Thread: Please take a look at my site.....

Hi all,

I've been working on my site (www.morairabandb.co.uk) on and off for quite a while; I've just re-designed it and would be grateful for your comments and thoughts.

I have resized the photos to 600 x 400 on PIXresizer following previous advice from Chris at Collectors-Info. If you think I should make them smaller etc. let me know how much. I would like to add another page of area photos with some info on the location but I'm worried too many photos will slow it down way too much?

I'm happy with the contact page as it is, but I'm guessing some of you may have other ideas!

The animated lizards are a distraction to viewers who are trying to read what you are offering.

For the photos try out the light box in BV.

I've got a light box in my more photos page; I wondered if the site was slow loading for anyone with all the pics, in which case adding more on another page would be a big problem?

I like what you have done. You have links inserted to the palmtree and lizard images that go to a 404 Error page. Are they supposed to link to....somewhere....?

That's probably something I did way back at day one, I think I went linking mad then - thinking evrything I did had to link to a page or something!!
Seems so long ago I can't remember.......I guess they don't need to be linked to anything.......or do they??

Remove the links as they go to an 404 Error page and someone may be confused by that and go away from your site.

The first thing I noticed is the lack of a favicon. Get one, it's a must, especially if you want people like me to not delete your bookmark. I tend to delete pages without a favicon as I use the bookmarks toolbar with favicons only.

Hi...thanks guys, this is new to me and I'm still learning about html codes and very confused about where exactly to put them - so any very basic idiots guide stuff would help me regarding placing the required data. When I bring up the html all the tabs - 'start' btwn header tag' etc etc. go right over my head. :(

Should the image be a photo like the ones on my site?

Its a nice looking site get rid of the lizard its distracting also on you more photos page on the bottom where it say bathroom and pook click to enlarge is overlapping it. Other than that job well done

Go to the Dynamic Drive page
Browse to an an image on your computer that you want to use. It's best to use a simple graphic image.
Click on "Create Icon"
Then click on "Download Favicon"
Download to your BlueVoda folder
You will then need to FTP the image into your public_html folder.
Right click on an empty area of your page and select "Page HTML"
Open the "Between Head Tag" tab and insert this code:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico">
Save & Publish

Here in "Sunny" Missouri it is 96F (35.55C) and my A/C is not working!!! G'nite !!

Another thing I noticed is your home page is pretty wide, some side scrolling. But your other pages are narrower, I would have them all set the same. 800 to 1000.

Thanks everyone for your comments and your help.......really glad its mostly positive about my site................I'll take a look at the page size, reconsider my lizards, and find a Favicon.
