    Default Requesting a site review

    Hi All!

I'm putting the finishing touches on a site that I built for a client of mine. Take a look and see if I'm missing anything serious. I may have a few things to tidy up?
I know the Baskets need work...

Every time i switch pages and during the transition i see two white squares pop up.. not sure what those are about or if its part of how you mapped images up at the top right there..

I dont mind the white background.. but tan might be ok too...I like how it makes it stand out and focus your attention.

Other than that i dont have too much to pick apart.. but then I know who helped mold you so.. I expect good productions.. (wink)

Very nice Randall. The only thing I saw was the scrolling message at the bottom is going a little fast, it made my eyes hurt as I tried to read it.
    Keep Up the good work.

Very nice site! I like the colors. Love your coffee of the month option. Consider making it a gift selection too!

    Contact page:
    Email Adderss (address)

    Shipping page:
    weekends and holiday's (holidays)

    Home pge:
This Months Special (This Month's Special)

    About Us page:
The "see more details" link below "Explore our coffee selections" does not work. (It works on your Home page).

Some other links are not working.

Liked the site - I can almost smell the Coffee!
The only thing I noticed was the link 'flavoured coffee' at the bottom of the page is on two lines.
    Love the colours.

    Nice site.
1)Have clicked on 'Site map' an the page which came up was empty - no info.
    2) 'Tea' page: you have only 1 price with the $ symbol
    Retail Price = $39.95.

    Cheers,

    very, very good site
most of my comments are gonna be about personal feel.
    good colors. very coffee.
people react to color and shape.

while contrast is good maybe a bit darker background will make it a bit softer.
guess it depends on whether you take your coffee for the jolt or the comfort!

as for comfort i'd like to see the buttons less metallic looking
no problem with prices on tea page
    no problems with navigation
love the yahoo different languages thingy
where did ya find that ?
    scrolling message is fast.

you may have played with this already but for me the logo oval would be positioned
a bit up a bit and to the right connecting it with the beans.
for some reason the upper left corner of the header seems empty making me search for the logo or connecting point of interest.

nothing wrong with what you have
i like the font in the logo. to me arabique quillish.

you can be proud of this one.

interesting, navigate well and sells !

I agree with KMAC...get the same "funky" transition.

Wow, what a difference a hosting company can make! What a long way you have come! I really like the domain name...awesome!

Keep up the great work...and let me know when you start selling my "coffee" (Mountain Dew...LOL)!

Also, if redoing some pages...might consider hyperlinking your logo to home page...many people click logos for home page instead of looking for nav button.

    Thanks everyone!

    I'm on it...
Can someone tell me how to link the logo? Duh!!
I've tried and couldn't find the link option.
The rest of the stuff I can figure out.

I don't see it in logo properties, but i think it is probably quickest and easiest to insert the link through the html of the logo:

    Right click on logo>>HTML>>insert link

    For example:

<a href="http://www.coffeebeansbeansbeans.com"> in the before tag

and don't forget the closing tag </a> in the after tag

    Hope this helps!

Do you think that having my home page ending in /index.html will make a difference? when putting the link on the logo for each page?

Should my home page just be set as dot com?

    Not sure...

On your contact page, (should this page be .php?)
the link for the nav button named Coffee is not quite right---> .....beansbeans.com/products.index...the same button on index page goes to coffee.html...

On tea.html, none of the footer links are working

On accessories.html and aboutus.html and others, the footer link for flavored coffee is missing the e in the actual link itself...you have it as flavord.html...

greenbeans.html has footer links in purple and white...not sure this is what you wanted

I "cheat" on navigation by having a notepad list of all my nav links (one list for each site; checked and double-checked for accuracy)...I just open it and copy and paste links, to avoid typos, etc...just makes it easier for me and less typing when building pages...
and makes a great reference for making sure I'm deleting the messed up pages in cpanel, not the good ones.

IMO your link for the homepage should be just your domain name like the example I used for your logo link.

Thumbs up Re: Requesting a site review

This is my first review so please bear with me. I really like your website. The colour scheme is lovely, the pictures crisp and tidy. The navigation works well but I think you should be aware that people who use "NoScript" cannot see everything on your website. For instance I couldn't see (and there was no hint that they even existed) Babelfish or your tickertape until I marked your website as trusted. Of course once I did mark your site as trusted (to try and find Babelfish) the tickertape drove me crazy. It's incredibly distracting. I reckon that you should lose it instead of running the risk of losing customers. As others have pointed out the sitemap is empty. Your photos in the coffee and tea sections take a long long time to load when you're on dialup (but they load very fast in the organic section). In my country more than 50% of people are still on dialup so I think it's important that pages load fast for them as well. One last thing, on your homepage the link for "single origin coffee" reacts very strange in Firefox - mouseover causes the first two lines to change font and imitate a link (strange effect). Overall quite a pleasant website though, you should be proud.

Well, I think I have most of the bugs stamped out.

One thing I'm having some challenges with is:
I don't see it in logo properties, but i think it is probably quickest and easiest to insert the link through the html of the logo:

    Right click on logo>>HTML>>insert link

    For example:

<a href="http://www.coffeebeansbeansbeans.com"> in the before tag

and don't forget the closing tag </a> in the after tag
I've tried to get this logo link to work but it still giving me a run for my money.
Maybe someone can check my coffee page?
    http://www.coffeebeansbeansbeans.com/coffee.html
I put the above info in but it doesn't seem to be linking the logo to the home page... Ugh!

    Keep 'em coming!

    Thank You All!!!

    This forum is so great!

I'm a work in progress, I believe most of the changes have been made.

Except one... I cannot get a handle on the white boxes popping up during the page transition??
I tore apart one of the pages thinking that I might have left a clear or white box behind the scenes, Nope... nothing there
Could it possibly be something in BV transitions?
    Another issue,
Maybe I should put this in another thread?
The punctuation goes to the front of my sentence in the larger text elements box? ?Know what I mean <<< after publishing

If some else wants to comment on the site, Please do!
