Please see my very first website. Would appreciate some feedback

You have made a great start considering that this is your first site.

All links that I checked worked fine.......

Membership page worked fine.....

Contact page needs a little work....blank box, java message includes editbox 1 etc......give your boxes names as you did for your other form.

The widget button was not working on the contact page.

Keep going......you can only get better.................well done.

Nice work, your link for Chinese New Year does not work. The about us page is too long, it has a lot of blank area at the bottom of the page. And I would try to get a better picture for your community page of the building, the letters are very distorted when compared to the other photos on your site it is lacking. And correct the things David pointed out, Good Job

Congratulations looks great. I found it easy to navigate around your site and enjoyed the content and information. Nice clean look. The members page needs to be made longer as your footer is not at the end of the members list.

Cant argue with this one for a 1st time site, excellent job. The only suggestions that might help, is!.
The main image on about us page needs resizing to stop the distortion.
It also feels like it wants a very light colour to the background with a white centre area to lead your eye to the middle. Some of the pages feel a bit like the text & images are floating in a large white space. But besides my gripes, a real good job.

Thank you to everyone for your comments. I shall take them all on board and make appropriate changes.

Its great to get feedback positive and negative from people who know what they are talking about.

Nice clean looking site your got there. Easy to navigate and easy on the eyes. The only thing I can see is when it goes to your home page, at the top right your links tab is slightly hidden by the "Enter Competition" text box.
Excellent job tho!

One thing I just noticed, on your splash page you have the Olympic banner. You could run into trouble unless you have expressed written permission to use it. They are very strict about the use of their logo, look at the legal aspects of use where ever you got it.

Really nice job with the layout. I think for your first site you are doing awesome.

a few observations
chinese new year link doesn't work,
"enter competition" might create more interest if it read ('08 olympics cocktail competition)

and of course any email address on a web page invites spamming.
