Thread: I have updated an existing site - please review

Hello Everyone

I am updating one of my existing sites http://www.kindoffice.co.uk/ (work in progress)

Please have a flick around see what you think.

My main concern is the index page

1. Is it too busy?
2. As there is a lot of images. Is the page loading at an acceptable speed?

3. Any other advice?

Your index page ,at first glance, looked well laid out with nice colours.
You have left a reasonable amount of white space which helps to break up the page into a reasonable reading experience.

On checking the load time And the metetags, this is what I found:

Meta tags analysis.
Title: Title contains no errors.
This tag contains 73 characters.

Title relevancy to page content is good.
The Title relevancy to page content is 75%.

Description: Description meta tag contains no errors.
This tag contains 153 characters.

Description meta tag relevancy to page content is very good.
The Description meta tag relevancy to page content is 91%.

Keywords: Keywords meta tag relevancy to page content is fair.
The keywords meta tag relevancy to page content is 63%.


Web page analysis.
The size of the web page.
The size of the web page is 31932 bytes.

The web page load time.
The web page load time is 11 seconds.

Need to get that load time down a lot....................will check it again later just in case it was a traffic/server timing error.

The site is well done. Loads quick. One thing why not add a color background that will bring it out more. Other than that a great job.

Despite the fact you have lots of images and contents it is loading fast.
Site is nice and easy to read. Keep it up!

I like it a lot.........love the green and white.....crisp and clean and green..
I am on fairly slow broadband and loads fine....All links fine....

IMO, I would shorten the pages that can be.....You can keep scrolling down after your footer on many of your pages.......
One other thing that I would alter is the word re-use. It still works with your 3Rs theme with the hyphen.

Loads fast. You have a lot of info on the index page but it’s not overwhelming. Nice layout its neet, it has a professional look.

Thanks for looking Sandra and you have picked up on the fact my page keeps scrolling after the footer (index page as an example)

This is weird because my eperience tells me that this is usually caused by a hidden image that has been over looked. Removal usually corrects this problem.

In my case I have opened the page, made the page longer, made the page wider, in the hope that I'll find this missing element but there is nothing there.

Sandra would you or anyone else in the forum know what may be causing this? Incidentally, this is a bit random, some pages have this problem and some do not.

Hello rangaza007. Thanks for looking at my site. To stop people sending me blank emails, I just changed one thing.

The box where the visitors type in the email address. In BV, Double click it and go to the validate tab and change the data type to 'email address'.

You can also have the other boxes validated as well, either to accept just numbers, just text or no constraints (default)

Make sure that your form name doesn't contain any whitespaces. In example, if you have named it "Contact Form" , it should be renamed to "Contact_Form" or "Contactform".

White spaces break the Javascript function that validates the form.

I like the site a lot. looks great.

Got one question for you though. How about a search on the home page? maybe I miised it but it is similar to my site and Im thinking about adding a search too.

Overall its good work.. I noticed too that your pages are php, a place where I would love to be.

I need one too.. Im referring to the one that allows you to search the site.
So we are in the same hunting position. Did you look at my site? I may need some help from you to get certain things going on it.
