Thread: Newbie need help!

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and i've just published my site(www.memoriesdewedding.com) recently. I'm not a pro in web developing and the problem that i'm facing right now(even some of my clients also facing the same problem) is that sometime i could not access the site.(e.g. page that appear on the monitor :

Because you didnt publish an 'index' file.

The home page or FIRST page needs to be saved as index

What i mean is sometimes i could view and sometimes could not. My main page is actually saved as index file.

i'm not sure about your problem but maybe your server problems. maybe you can send a support ticket to support team.

You appear to have 4 dns entries, 2 for vodahost and 2 for another host.

I cannot see an index file at all - Suggest you send in a support ticket after re-publishing your index page and verifying that nothing has changed.

you mean i should republish index file only or all other pages? What should i do on the dns entries? Thanks for your attention!

First, I would do is figure out which site is hosted where as someone said you have other sites hosted on another hosting company.

Second, I would make sure you are publishing to the correct server and to the proper folder.

Third, as stated before your homepage (start page) must be named "index"

Fourth, when publishing multiple site under the same hosting account there is a drop down box where you can choose which home folder to publish to in the FTP, make sure you are saving your index pages in seperate folders so they dont overwrite themselves.

Lastly, F5 has become one of my new best friends when publishing to refresh your published webpage. Also be sure to clear your cache and check all the boxes to clear that you can afford to do without for now.

For I.E. > Tools > Internet Options > Browsing History > Delete > Delete All > Check the delete stored by add-ons box. Then republish and check your site again.

hi,
ive done the necessary steps for domain transfer so i assume that the previous host is no longer hosting my domain. i tried to access the domain management site given by previous host but fail because the username no longer exist. What i dont really understand is how come some of my client can view and some could not? i have another laptop using same connection also face the same problem. :( feeling abit letdown bcause i've never face this problem with my previous hosting company. Am losing business because client could not view our page.

make your home page, save as,

index

lower case
no extensions
publish.

my homepage is name under index file all the while. i've received reply from the support team stated that they have done some adjustment to the dns. i need to wait for few hours before it could take effect. Thanks for your reminding.
