Thumbs up Logo design website what do you think?

I've been creating business and personal logos for some time and I’ve decided to start my own business in this area. I would like to know if you were a potential customer would you pay for my services after seeing my website - page load, design, page size or anything else you feel needs some work. Thanks in advance.

I gather you are possibly in the UK region, or at least European theater.

Would be nice to also set up a pricing page to reflect US monies compared to other world currencies. Dollars vs Yen, Duetschmark vs Franks, etc etc.

To many times one forgets who it is that may view your page. And if in a different country from you some do not understand the currencies being listed unless something is written in their currency format.

    Hi,
Nice smooth running site but why did i expect to see something really flashy and hi tech.I expect many others will be thinking the same, so offering the service that you do, you should get a bit of jazz that says hey look what we can do come and buy some.
    regards

    I agree.

I really like that the site is simple to use, and the colors are eye catching, but it seems to be missing that certain something that says "hey, these guys are good!"

You're off to a great start though, and I wish you luck! :)

I see that the currency converter tool has been added.

Nice touch and a great way to gain international business.

Which I must say if one is limited to just one geographical area limits the amount of exposure.

Everyone has heard of Coke, or Coca-Cola. It is in just about every country. After it gets to all countrys it has only out in space yet to promote!

Do not limit yourself in design, let the artistic side of you open up and be seen as " I want one "!!!

    Nice job in any sense!

Ok guys, I'll warn ya that stupid questions are incoming! lol

Is there a currency converter that's better than another? Where do I get one (I did a search, but the main one that popped up required the placement of banner ads on my website)? And last question (for now) is, is it difficult to install one on your website?

    Thanks for any help! :)

I agree it is simple to use and bright but it is missing something for sure on the homepage. The logo is pretty cool!! How did you design the menu buttons to look like that? Was it bluevoda or soholauncher?

Kjay- if you click on my converter tool you'll see a link on the bottom to the site where you can get your own for free (that’s their way of promoting their site which is a lot more subtle than a banner)
Catsgreen- yes all done with bluevoda (what a great tool!)
Thanks everyone for your reply's and I will work on my homepage and keep you posted.. ;)

    Kellie:

I have posted 3 converters which you might look into.
As for being better then another one issue, I would say try each one out.
See if they are giving you the same conversion that another is giving. Some currency conversion forms may be off by a few dollars or lira depending on which currency you want to check on. A few dollars could mean alot if many orders are sent out with the wrong pricing information.

Not to exclude the one on Maxs' website.

The one thing you need to remember is, will it look right with my site?
Can I change the way it looks to match my sites theme?
Is it large or small enough for my site.

Ok, I've had a play about with flash..Please be honest what do you think now?

I made this so if you do find a good html converter you shouldn't have a problem fitting it onto your site (a thank you for all you reply's)

Hey there. Did you create your site with this web site creator? I have a candle/bath and body supply business and I would like to do the same thing. If you did use BV was it fairly easy?

thank you :), I'm "beginning" to like the way it's looking, I still think it looks a little bare though ( I will have to work on it) I used BV for the buttons and for placing my graphics onto my site, but I used design programs to make all my animations and pictures. I hope that answers your question :$
give me a shout if you need any help.

Can I say first of all that I love your site? I do however have one suggestion.

Sometimes when I am searching for something I want to find it fast, and flash intros really turn me off! How about having another 'home' page where someone can skip the animated version, and just read the info in plain text if they prefer? I think the information is important, but someone may just want to find what you are about fast, without waiting for it all to play through?

    Just a thought

    Trish:

My point exactly. Flash it good for those who like to see it, but what about those who do not wish to see flash, but instead the information they came for instead!

My question / Statement would be as follows.

Concider oneself as their own customer! Would you buy from yourself, knowing that you have 2 sites to view from. 1 Simple text with few flash, or 1 site with more flash then product information?

If you do not like flash, do you think your customers would?

Eye Catching slogans and bright colors are an appeal to cause ones product to jump out at you and say, " Buy Me ". Flash jumping out and saying, " Buy Me " may give the consumer a false sense that this is a better product because it is seen doing something which it is not capable of doing.

Always look at your design as if you are your own customer. But also always make it possible for your customer to go past the flash and to the information they really came to see in the first place.

If your product is about flash, then let it be. If about candles, give me a way to pass a candle walking around and take me to the meat of the information.

I understand what you mean but that’s why I made my site like it is. My flash is on my “home page” but it isn’t my “home page” (if that makes any sense) and I didn’t put any product information on there just my sales pitch ;) so that people who don’t wish to see the flash animation can press one of the buttons down the side to view the design range. I also gave people the option to turn the music off. If I haven’t succeeded in doing this please let me know and feel free to offer any tips, I’m always open to suggestions:)
