Default My first ever website nearing completion! What do you think please?

    Hello all,

Before I proceed to the point of completing my website I would really value your opinions.
This is my first website and our customers who are often much bigger corporate fish than us will be using it and I wanted to make it look like i'd paid someone to do it!

This is actually my 4th draft but I s****ped the previous 3 drafts without going public.

Many thanks in advance. Positive and negative critique gratefully received.

    Janis

It might help if I actually gave you the website address!

    www.ukdrillers.co.uk

p.s I did not swear in the previous post but it appears to have automatically ** out some of a word that means the same as 'binned'

Hi, ya off to a good start, but have quite a bit of side scroll & need to use the BV centering facility in page properties. This link might help.

You need to tweak the text headers in your first column as the larger text is being pushed down, and its not nice to see.

    Same with the text menu................

That is interesting to see your screen shot, I have looked at my published site on 3 different computers and the site always came up looking exactly as I designed it.

On your screen shot the font is different from the one I set..and in fact it all looks a bit of a mess! On my browser it looks much 'crisper'

I will centre it and sort out the scrolling as recommended, hopefully this will correct things when people view it in differing screen res/browsers.

I might convert the titles to images to keep the formatting I intended.

    Many thanks for your help!

Each browser presents data slighly different...........I use Opera all the time
and I also have 3 others for testing purposes.

It all depends on screen sizes, so you should take that into account at the design stage.

The same applies to fonts.............that is why I use standard fonts as much as posible.

    Happy tweaking...................

Hi, have a look at your screen resolution. This is a more common reason for seeing things differently on different monitors. Its also one of the reasons to use the BV centre in page facility & not go over the 985 mark.
