Thread: I am working on a re-design....need your input please!!

Hello,

I am working on a re-design for my website. The first version that I have was my first time ever even attempting at a website so I was pleased with the way it turned out. Now that I am getting quite a bit of traffic, I would like for my site to be more professional looking. So...with that said, I have decided to redesign my website and taking careful consideration to what that norm is.

Can you please check out both of my home pages and tell me if the re-design is better or worse? What are your thoughts on the re-design? Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Number 2. Need to also resize your images. The page is at 450kb & could easily be around 150kb for instant loading.

Consider these changes:

Home page

Payroll and business formation are both services, so Services should be changed to Bookkeeping.

Under How can we help?
It appears the letter fonts change between Bookkeeping and we.

@Subtitle: Important Changes for Business Owners
The subtitle overlaps upon sentences below
The text in this section is too wide. Narrow the text down to 5.5 inches or less.

Other Issues

Business Blogs
They should have the same format and colors as your site.

Tabs:
I like the tabs at the top on the first page better than the side tabs throughout the rest of the site.

Your top tabs should be Home, Bookkeeping, Payroll, Business Formation, Blogs, History, and Contact Us – in that order to correspond with the topic’s importance, which is defined by the front page’s layout.

Continuity
Your front page looks very nice. The title box should be the same one each page. Then, the different pictures for Services, Payroll, and Business Formation should become the banner for those corresponding next pages. To keep continuity within the site, you will need an additional banner photo for the blog, history, price, and contact us pages.

On all of the pages, keep everything below the title box, just like you have it on the first page.
