Thread: My First Web Site

My husband put this site together in about a week. He's experienced with computers but not web site building.

Pretty good for a week's work by someone who's "experienced with computers but not web site building." LOL
No side-scroll which is a nice change :)
Only thing I found a little annoying is that each page opens in a new tab? To change this click on "properties" & leave the 'target' window completely empty.

I think that opening a page in a new window was intentional. But perhaps you are correct in that one can navigate the site using the links. BTW - the site is still a work in progress.

And thanks for comment about my artwork. It's a full-time job.

Great site, another example of simplicity is best.

Apart of the above I would shorten the pages so they are like "about artist" especially "home".
Also as Voda Host has mentioned somewhere, I have not yet done it myself so Ican not tell you how, if a viewer has not set up their computer email client program, they will not be able to contact you. Set up a contact page with your email address & your conatct link within that page.

Like the colors and the navs as well but as stated could use short words like example : About The Artist" make it "The Artist" or "What is Batik" to "Batik?"

With the question mark that seems to cover "what is" people will wonder why you have that question mark and like with all humans we get curious and click to be nosey lol

But everything looks centerd in my browser i use ie7/firefox at resolution 1024x768

I like it. Nice clean and easy to navigate. The white text in the green buttons is not my favorite feature on your webpage. Also the About The Artist and What is Batik text is to long for the buttons. It's a shame because the rest of the site is good. Maybe use textlink instead of navigation buttons? Just my opinion though. Keep up the good work. The artwork itself is fantastic.
