    Smile Comments, please!

    My website is: http://www.myminischnauzers.com/
I have never created a website on my own before, only with a wizard that did all the work for me. I do NOT know how to get my site "found" on searches. Can anyone help? Also, does anyone know how to "redirect" my old site to my new site? My old site is: http://mini-schnauzers.clearwire.net/ I really would appreciate your advice! Thank you!! Deb

Lovely site, lovely dogs, you should be proud.
The site flows nicely, the choice of colours are nice, it kept me interested not overflowing with to much information.
    Good job!

    Redirect
On your server, under public_html directory, you should have
a file called .htaccess (that's dot htaccess).

Copy it over to your PC in a temp folder.
(If you don't have it, create it)

Using your MS Notepad, open the file and add the following:

    redirect 301 your-old-domain-name your-new-domain-name
    (watch for the spaces)
For another instruction, give it an extra blank line.

Save it and FTP it back to your server in the same directory.

    SEO
Your index file can be gateway to your website. Have a brief
introduction with keywords and key phrases. Write good content
about your index page and all pages.

Many experts suggest to do the following at a bare minimum:

    1. Title on a page should describe, in a given number of words,
the business it presents to the world.

    2. All large images should have alt text.

    3. Make sure all img tags have height & width attributes.

    4. The terms used in the page title should be found somewhere on the page.

    5. Your first paragraph is the most important. It should have your primary keyword tags for the page.

    6. Make sure all keywords are on the page if they are in your keyword tag.

    7. Treat each page as it is the home page. Together they make website stronger.

Like Karen suggested on so many occasions, there are websites and blogs that help in SEO. Google it.

For aesthetic purposes, I would suggest centering the text "from our living home to your!" as well as "we love miniature schnauzers". In your contact page, for the oval image I would suggest goining into the shape properties and check the anti-alias box to give the image border a cleaner look.

Other than that, and what others have said, especially about reducing your image sizes, it looks great!

    Deb & Tony,
So often people cannot decide on what template, font style, etc. to use, so they start using all of them, which is very unprofessional.

Please consider what template you like the best. Then use that same template for ALL of your pages. Place your navigational buttons in the same location on each page. Use a uniform pattern for each page.

Your photos spill out below your left side bar. Restrict your page content to below your header and to the right of the left side bar.

Give all of your photos a uniform size. Then give a description for each photo.

Finally, considering the thickness of your selected templates, your site may look better if it was not centered on the screen. Instead, let your template rest along the left wall.
