Sites looks well laid out & got a nice feel. Would consider going through your images & reducing them to improve page loading.
IE: http://www.sdindie21.org/Author.jpg is around 900kb & could be about 30kb & look the same.

Yes it looks fine but the pics (as previously mentioned) are too large and will take a long time to load on a slow connection (like mine) BV recommends PIXresizer http://pixresizer.en.softonic.com/ its free and a great little app.

Nice job. I really like it. One thing that bothered me just a little, is the link hover on your navigation. The yellow somehow doesn't fit in with your otherwise well chosen colour theme. Another thing I find a bit annoying is when I hover over your navigation buttons, there is a kind of delay before the white turns to yellow, but that could just be my computer. Sorry, I am sounding like some kind of expert here, which I am NOT. Just trying to be objective
