Default New site up and running, your thoughts...

    Hi all,

Just completed the website and wondered what you people think of the design and navigation, also any tips on the keyword side etc would be good to hear.

Hi Andy I think your site looks really good...very professional.

What you may need to look at is your images and i just picked on one at random

This is your version which is .png file and weighs in at 391.43kb
This is my version which is a .jpg version and weighs in at 54.04kb

So my version will load much quicker than yours. Feel free to right click it and save it.

So my overal thought was that your images were loading a bit slow and .png files are guilty of this. So I would use your image editing program to convert these to jpg.

    Nice job though!!

I'll let someone else take a look at your keywords.

    Hi Darren,
Very useful information that many thanks. I will trawl the site for .png's and change them all to jpegs over time. Would this apply to roll overs, light boxes and slide shows, got a few of each.

I try to avoid .png files but saying that I will use them if I need a transparent background instead of the usual white. Anything to reduce the weight down on your page is a good thing!

Got quite a bit of side scroll on most of the pages being set at over the 985px mark. Need also to go through quite a few images, especially on this page http://www.addagrip.co.uk/internal.html as it weighs in at 2800kb & should be nearer 200kb. But nice looking site. I am seriously looking at a resin floor on a future build we are planing.

Thanks for the input guys very much appreciated. Will be converting images to jpeg going forward and will also 'squeeze' the site.
