Thread: I Have a front Page Up!

Wohoo,

Finally, after trying to use other systems for two years, within a matter of a week or so - I have a homepage published and started....

Thankyou Voda Host - By far the best package I have ever seen and used!

Now comes the hard stuff! Lol...

Marc, I am mightily impressed given your recent cries for help!

There are however a couple of teeny weeny things (hardly! Lol):

Your phone number seems to be in a really large font size which is overwriting your address and the page is untitled. I also think that you should slim the page down to around the 1000 px mark as presently it's a tad wide and viewers do not like to scroll sideways.

Apart from that you are off to a really good start. I like the design and colours - it has a warm and trendy summery feel to it. I look forward to seeing more! Well done.

Your page is looking GOOD. I agree tho that you might want to make it less wide to fit everyone's screens. I've got all my stores on 800 wide except my new one - and I'm testing with the width there. but if you look at A Child's Palace - they really see the entire store without scrolling - and I'm using that extra 200 to put in specials, etc (which I'm still working at). So this way, people with wider screens will get more store - but people with narrower ones don't lose out. (Except that's where my shopping cart button are and where my search feature is going to be added). Ah, it's not a perfect world :)

If you sized your phone number down, it's perfect to me as I see it. It's great for customers to know they can call. Lots prefer that still to ordering online. And to others that do order online, it gives them confidence that you are legit.

I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Didn't realise about the size issues - I am working on a 19" TFT Screen - screen resolution set at 1280x1024...Guess thats why...Doh!

Will look into changing this at the earliest opportunity.

Forge ahead now and create the links to other pages (that's gonna be fun!)

This is fantastic, well worth the hunt on the internet! Think I need to plug Voda Host on the page too!

The home page is looking good - and clicking on the nav buttons takes me to other pages - mainly with nothing on them LOL - but then none of the nav buttons I tried on the other pages worked.

Make sure you get your store name on the top of every page.

Looking very good Sergeant! The only thing I had trouble with - is where the type on the Customer Service page is on the water - some of that is hard to read.

It looks great! Although contrary to popular belief there is no apostrophe in bikinis. "They all went out in their bikinis". If you add an apostrophe to bikini it would make it possessive. "The bikini's color was just right"

Sorry if this seems "teacher-ish" (I'm not a teacher, I loved English class); but it takes away from the professionalism.

I must remember to use common font sets - totally my fault on the telephone number - thanks for pointing it out - was using Avante Guard Lite. Now changed to Arial - should be ok now..
