Thread: Website Submission

Hi,

Any comments please on how to get my new ( and 1st ) website submitted to some of the popular search engines? Are some of the programs and submission sites really any good?

I should point out that i am in the UK, and my site relates to my business which targets the south of the UK, so nothing too global.

Could try pay per click with google and yahoo.
Site looks good by the way, abit of side scrolling, set your display to 800X600 to see how the flat earthers will see your site.

You can have Voda submit the site once to all the se's.

My opinion - submitting more than once is a waste of time - and I don't even do it the once. Get yourself some backlinks and they'll all find you.

The site is quick loading, pics are good - easy to understand. Only issue is if you don't want people with 600x800 (as mentioned) to have to scroll.

I could be seeing things but is there some really pale text at the top of the screen that is mostly covered by the pictures? If it's important - make it a darker colour and you may want to move it.

Apart from that it's very, very nice. Well done!

This is what I'm seeing on your sealer page the text is overlapping the pic, and you have some text in yellow behind your top header there saying "put some lite back into your driveway" I dunno if thats intended or not, but I can see this if you enlarge the page. Is that your subliminal message

Mike - not sure about the text overlap, trying different resolutions now to see, as its ok on 1024x768 on mine, but of corse that may well not be for everyone.

Bethers - Thanks i will try Voda for 1 submission, plus thanks to Nick for the Yahoo-Google options. I used to run a company some years ago and used Google Adwords which if fine if you remember to set your daily spending limits, otherwise BIG CCard bill next month!

David - With the fixed header and footer i simply had a few pics all the same size. Just popped them on each page using the insert pic button, made them all fit tight together, and to my amazment uploaded it and it worked! - So well done to Bluevoda for that one.

Looks good to me, on my pc no overlapping. Too bad your not in Florida, I really my pavers cleaned. Hurricanes can really make a mess.

The site is very impressive. Looks clean and tidy, easy to navigate aswel. Im viewing it on a wide screen laptop and it displays perfectley.

You pages seem to have lost the ability to scroll up or down within
the header and footer ????....what happened ??

David, when I open his pages, the entire page is there - so there is no need to scroll up or down. I'm not sure what you're looking for.

The first time I visited, The text scrolled down and up between the header and footer photos.....I guess the text has been condensed to fit on the page now, hence no scrolling...................

Great site - I like the header and footer.
