Hi sadain,
Well you have made a goo start, but for these tired eyes
Blue on Blue seemks to be very dark and hard to read........
Keep working on the links.......

edit: just found my way into other pages and they look much better....(Home page had page1, page2, page 3)
and was a bit misleading.

btw: Check your text on your contacts page as you appear to be losing the end of the lines under

It's customary and polite to thank people that have taken the time out of their busy lives to take a look at your new site and post comments which you asked for! Please bear that in mind!

With that said your site has a nice look but I agree with everything that the previous poster said. THERE ARE NO NEON SIGNS. The only page link to work was 'PAGE 1' which just refreshed the page I was already on. So, I too feel, you still have a little work to do but look forward to seeing it when it is a bit more developed. Good luck.

Yes, the forum link does work, but it is not neon. The forum looks good.

what would you call it if not neon..

Look, if you don't want an honest opinion, don't post here asking for one. Look, the idea of this forum is to post your site and get good, solid, constructive feedback. If you don't want that or can't handle it, then look, only share your links with your family and friends, as I'm sure they'll be quite complimentary of your work. And lastly, look, if it's necessary to point out where people should "click" then it's looking likely that you've done a poor job of setting up your pages.

Look, you'll likely see this post as disrespectful, but odds are I don't really care. To get respect, you must first SHOW respect to others.

To be honest, it IS cool. Take the input of others and use it, and it could be awesome. No need to delete the thread, use it for what it's designed to do.

I have sensitive eyes to me the colors are soothing---- black and white on the computer hurts, and I'm at the site alot its only been up for about two weeks its my most popular site I've had 150 unique visitors at the site already and 25,000 hits thats just in two weeks.


I should have stated like instead of second opinon if it was legable to anyone else or something, its very readable to me. but then agian my sensitive sight

Keep coming back - there will be plenty more. It does look stunning, Sadain, you just need to make it a little easier for others to see and use. The forum looks really cool.

I think you should lighten the fill colour of your links. They look good but are difficult to see.

Secondly - I would reconsider using words like 'Page 1, Page 2 and Page 3'. It is dull and doesn't tell me anything. Think along the lines of 'Home Page' and give a clue as to why I would want to go to the next page.

A good place to get an idea of what is good is to check out a few other sites - see how their navigation works.

You need to make it obvious how to move between pages of your site. I tried the links and couldn't get them to work. That's going to lose viewers. Many won't try twice.

I hope this helps some and don't be afraid to come back and seek further advice. We are always here.

I clicked on 'page1' and 'page 2' - nothing happened. If you had links elsewhere I didn't see them.

Perhaps you could use your pages to break down your books into areas of interest, fiction and non-fiction, I don't know. If you don't need extra pages then don't use them just for the sake of it. Add them when and if you need them.

thats because page 1 is home and the page two had no link look again I tore down page 2 and 3 until I'm ready to publish the pages

But, the rest are cool aren't they

Second... I liked your site. It caught my attention. I would say that the main page and the forum seem like they belong to two different web pages. I think that this is why they have templates. I find on most web sites all the pages have the same 'look'. For the eyes I might go with the forums theme. It has the same colors but is easier to read. Or combine them. I liked your title where did you find it or is it something you created?

I love your title, forum and email text on the home page. But I have to admit, the rest is very difficult for me to read. I'm not color blind, but some of the book images, seem to fade into the night on your home page. Like others have said, your forum page is easier on the eyes in terms of your color selection. Hi Sadain,
I think your site looks good. I enjoy reading and go to many booksites. Colors are ok. But.... Hmmmmmm. Well. you did good work, but to be honest. I think since your title books are dark in color, have plenty of color themselfs that you should have a lighter background, even side links if possible would look ok dark, with a two tone color on white background with black text. This gives the reader less eye strain when browsing through your titles. Colors are good if they were surrounded in white backdrop. This is my opinion, if I was to post books like that, I want to read title and information on lighter background. It's like the sites your linking too, the amazon, they have lighter colors to better able to read book Title, it's just a suggestion, and top graphics are awesome. www.toysandbooks.net

My eyes are so sensitive that the page is soothing to me... You cant imagine how painful black and white is to me... sOMETIMEs I have to wear sun glasses while surfing... and I'm the Admin so I probably stick with the site I've asked my members so i'll see what they say, i have one vote that it is really cool

my members and I were all at myspace and we all wanted a site that wasn't distracting so I built it

This is due to the fact that you have taken on board the many constructive
and helpful comments made by this family of ours....

My only other comment is that the first book listed on your site might turn away some viewers. I don't know if you have a reason for your listing order and that is okay...just be aware that some will leave before they get half way through that description and never see book three.

All my authors are graphic though several have childrens books...

The first book is mine, I wrote that, its not as harsh as it may sound...

The forum- Your site has no real introduction - and that is ok because one can readily figure it out, but the forum does not explain what type of forum it is or what its all about. Maybe an introduction/explanation page would garner more curiosity and participation.

And last- the e-mail. I am no fan of an e-mail that opens my e-mail editor. In fact- I quickly and automatically exit out of it. I have spoke with others with similar feelings. I would make a short contact page and run it via php. Sorry- but I am partial to that method. It's a great way to allow quick feed back from your visitors too.

Anyway- great job and I can't wait to see the finished product.

The email thing, I wasn't a big fan of that either, when I had no emial account but yahoo, until I got a real account then I thought it was quick and easy, I used to copy the emial address out of the Outlook then go to yahoo to send, I know where your coming from,

It's not very instructive, or introduction/explanation because well newcomers need an invite at this point, if someone does come across the site and is interseted I let them join too but I dont know how long thats going to last, until like um... I cant remember his name Alien something, but he got spam artists and unwanted guest I've already had to lockup the forum from public view because someone was reading messages then publishing sites on our convo's so members only at this point.

so if I start getting spammers I'll have to do an email confirmation Registration...

You gave me a good idea, see my book is at book staores and its always deep in the lists so I decided to rotate books that way everyone at the site will be in the top spot every now and agian
