Thread: Luxury Birthday Cards - REVAMP

Hi friends, nutters and guests!

I have finished the re-build of this site, phew! It's now a slimmed down 800 and centred - better viewing for everyone.

Please take a look and let me know your thoughts, as always. I appreciate your time, patience and extra eyes.

I lost my guestbook :o( so have had to start over - please pop by, if you can.

It's just the Viper guestbook from Fantastico in the control panel. It's dead easy to set up.

Amanda - I can see all the graphics on you very good ( delightful. attractve, etc.) luxury bithday card site - but none on your other recent sites. I have not figured it out yet.

On the other hand the weather has been too good to worry over everything wrong on my computer.

Amanda, I'm looking at the middle column on the home page - and it starts mid-sentence? I can't figure out where it continues from?

I think you need to give your page a title too, other than home page!

On the terms page I see a couple typos (definaition and invloved are two) so you might want to put it through a spell checker.

Of course, I have to read word-for-word to find errors on your sites!

It looks great - colors work well together as always with your designers eye.

You gonna start sleeping anytime soon?

Are you going to put an inside view. How is your business going with all the different sites? Is it helpful to have several sites? How do you advertise? Just wondering.

what can I say Amanda? Great looking site as always. I had a bit of a problem today with the pages loading very very slowly, but that could be the traffic on broadband round here - I think someone drops the tin can now and again.

will try again later and see if it is better - if there is any problem I will let you know.

Hi Jane, thanks for taking the time to look. There are a couple of inside views but I will check it over and maybe add another couple. I tried Google adwords. But I found that my daily budget was getting used up, very quickly, with no sales. I suspected foul play from some of my competition. I no longer bother! Does having many sites help? I don't think so, really. I could, perhaps of done them all under one but it would have been big and cumbersome. Half my fun is building the sites. Lol.

I'd appreciate that. The i-frames have many pictures and that could be causing the slow load. If the problem persists I will have to make the images smaller still. Thanks for looking!

Left your site feeling good, excelent work....

Small question, after I signed your guest book I was left with nowhere to go and as I wanted to continue looking at your site....Is it posible to redirect after using a guestbook ???

Enjoyed the rumage through your Luxury site, Amanda. I'm still have picture viewing problems : Cards for Women =5 of 6 OK; Cards for Men=6 of 6 OK;
Cards for Children = 0 for ??? OK and the lower background box has 1 picture (Happy Birthday Nicolle); Pure Opulence is all good: home page = lily is OK; there is a slider for ready made previews in the left margin with nothing (for me) to see other than the vertical slider bar. Everything loaded promptly, the transitions were smooth and it looks great.

What a lot of work and imagination you put into those cards!

I salute you (but then I have to since you out rank me by several grades)

That, Lieutenant, is a very, very good question. I, admittedly, have not really looked at the admin side of my guestbook in any great detail, but, I will endeavour to find out. Thanks for that observation and your comments and time.

Why thank you. I am truly stumped by your difficulties in viewing the images on my sites. I an only conclude that there is a problem with your pc loading up the actual content part of the i-frame as nobody else seems to have encountered any problems. Could you have a pop-up blocker that may be treating the 'background content' (for want of the correct terminology) as an unwanted file or page? I do put a lot of work into my cards - thank you for noticing.

checked it again today on this wet rainy cold bank holiday morning (how could I have expected anything different? LOL) and it was better. Still a little bit slow, but I think it will be okay. There is a slight time lag between clicking the button and the next page appearing - for a moment you wnoder whether anything is going to happen.

Thinkiing psychologically, once people have done this on the first page they will then expect the wait for the next pages and will probably hang around as you have great products worth waiting to see!

Just don't know what this would be like on dial up though.

Trish, thanks for getting back to me about that. I'll have a play around with it and try and speed up the loading time. I know it will be those images. There are quite a lot of them. Thanks so much for checking again.
