Hi all, I have been working on website for a week already. Just purchased account. I have majority of items out and will be listing more pages. Can you please come view my site and let me no how it looks. Feel, color, if navigation and ordering structers look easy. This is a kid friendly site. And by all means. Subscribe to my newsletter in the calender area and once a month I will update you with new toys and books. This site basicly for childrens items and gifts. I have stuck with standard colors for reason toys and books are colorful enough. Also would like to no if site opens up fast for those that have dialup. I also will be having a banner exchange link page soon. So feel free to email with trades on banner exchange(kid friendly/family only)Must not link at all to adult sites at all. Also will have a post affiliate program that goes with my banners. Basicly you direct customers to my site. For each product sold. You make a profit. That should be up within a month. Still in the learning process of setting that part up. Kids pages will be up soon for safe family games and sounds of music for the kiddoes. All input and suggestions are welcome. And don't worry, my feelings don't get hurt. If you think something looks wrong, aweful, dumb, so and so. By all means, tell me. haha. So I can fix it to look better. Very interesting and works very well. I tried several pages, offerings and all worked well. Are all your personalized books 3-4 pages in length? what materials do you use - paper quality; cover vs. inside pages?

Thanks, you made my heart pitterpatter. lol. And ddstiles, no, there are more pages on the books. All with pictures. Now I no I better put how many pages each book have. Thanks for the idea. I use preprinted colored paper. Print books out with laser printer, bind the books together with highquality staples and books are hard back covers. They are kids safe for when I bind the books together, the sticky back stays stuck to staples for the little ones in case they deside they want to eat the book. haha. All is made with high quality material. But yes, I make the books from home with the help of my children and grandchildren. I sell at flea markets and do wonderful. But decided online is gonna work better for me as I have trouble walking and standing for long periods of times. Also to all w ho have viewed. When site takes off, which I hope. I plan on taking calender orders for bday parties and shows. Which I think a bit of traveling to them would be fun. For now I stay for these parties in my own area. Still figuring out how I will do this. Thank you all

I am working on calender right now. For now, you can post your site if it's kid friendly, say happy bday to someone special. All has to be family friendly. And the sign up below is for my newsletter. I'll have that page completed within to day so I don't confuse anybody. I need 24 hours for now to update calenders if you post something or website. Check it out. Maybe u might want to post a special mothers day poem or what not to all the mothers out there. In a few days I'll post my own special poems dedicated to all the children out there.

I'm looking at all your sites, LMAO, one got my atttention. whew. I had a good laugh. Little devil site one. I am tempted to post my own little devil there. haha

btw: "Lets child know there special and loved": change to (their)
and as you have lots of white space, you might want to consider
making the pages less wider for all those who have smaller screens.

Thank you david. I'll change that. haha. I put lots of white for those who have trouble reading. And use to reading white background. Also for those that prefer to set there settings without photos and just have reading material only. I'l try to not < br > to much and fix most. I have only been building for a week and working on that. And yes, I want website to work on all screens. My spelling can get bad sometimes too. I also sometimes put "no" instead of "know" and try to catch myself. Ugh, to many chat rooms make me spell wrong. LMAO

I can send you a kit if you like, I just did them for some of the little kids around here. But you might want to make one for your site. I have info on how to get away from someone who grabs you...just everything a parent needs to talk to their children about.

Was reading about doing what people enjoy doing. Catchy phrase, thumbs up for that one. No burn out for me. I enjoy building websites, and making children smile. I am curious. You have 2 sites right? toysandbooks.net and .com. The .com says you are in California. Do you actually have a store there. Then as part of your sign in name it says you are in New Mexico? Are the two sites related? because they don't link to each other or are they 2 completely separate entities? I guess I'm just confused.

No, I believe I did a typo there. The other is not my site. I wish I had that addy, but I put hold on it just in case they lose it. haha, if you no what I mean. Sorta like a waiting list that I could wait years for. Web addy is http://www.toysandbooks.net sorry for typo if I posted wrong addy all.

Thank you for comments. And if you wish to sell items online, let me know. I do have a kit for 25.00, refundable of course to serious sellers. Product catalog comes with over 3000 products, your price list, and another if you wish to have others sell for you. You choose what u want to sell or sell them all....mostly them products I sell in a classified site. This site Im building will only be for childrens items. If interested, let me no, I'll direct you to a list of some of the products I have listed. And soon I'll have an affiliate program set up on the personalized books. Still learning that area of it. It's encouraging to see what you've done with Soholaunch. I am trying to wrap up a few loose ends elsewhere before I open my first osCommerce account, and later move 3 more of my sites that need complete overhaul (hurricane & incompetent webmaster - long story) after getting into the curve with osCommerce.

I did notice one thing......wouldn't you want to have a security certificate for customer assurance? Not that you should go out and do BBB Online, but get a cert from Vodahost? It would certainly add a lot of percieved credibility and professional transactional security to your enterprise.....(just a thought)

Really, though.....your site is wonderful, and personally encouraging!

On your shopping cart can you order 3 or 4 items before being asked for your name & details? Not sure if this cart has a control for this. It would be nice to be able to choose 4 or 5 books & then be sent to the check out area after you have made the order up.

Sorry, don't no anything about SSL certificates. I noticed in one forum that voda was offering free ones at one time. Maybe they will do it again. Or if site picks up. I might be able to afford to get on. I'm learning as I go on how to maintain a secure site. I've been doing these books since 1997 and have regular customers localy. But am happy to get them online. Thank You

Yes, you can order 3 or 4 items before being asked to check out. If for instance, your ordering 4 books for same child, you only have to fill out form once. Except on the baby book. Have to fill out separatly. If for different Children, then you fill out form for each child. You only need to fill out form for one child, leave other blank if it ask. I do need to put that in my site. Also, all information on Child is secure. I destroy everything after 30 days. I only keep for 30 days do to re-makes and errors on my part. As your shopping and adding to cart. Everything is saved in a temporary cookie file until your ready to check out. Enjoy your shopping. Look forward to hearing from you. You can also phone in orders or mail in orders. Many different ways to take your orders at checkout. Thank You

Hi again all. Just a quick stop to take the time to thank everybody for visiting my site and giving me input. I sure could use more input and ideas. Still working on it. Also want to thank those who also took the time to place an order. I hope your children enjoy them as much as my grandchildren do. Keep on shopping. hahaha. I'm still working on one problem. Trying to get the copyright symbol out of my website. I tried editing it. If anybody knows how to take my template and redo it for me, I would appreciate it. For some reason when I edit it and save it as index html, same as before an upload all again. It comes out blank. Either way, hope ya'll enjoyed my site. Come back for more. I plan on adding more toys, holiday letters and fingerprint kits for the little ones. God Bless amd enjoy.
