Thread: Hey all please ckeck out my page

Hi, I am still learning on here.... but would like some ideas if that is ok..... I have seen a few sites here n I like them all..... I have just wanting 2 know how 2 put stuff on here for like my poems n stuff..... like a link for my poems n a linkn for my pics. Anything would be great.... Karen

You're off to a very nice start, Karen. There are a few spelling errors worth looking for, but it's a nice start for someone brand new to this stuff.

I'm really sorry for your loss. I don't believe you ever get over the loss of a child. And I think it's very brave of you to share this with us.

You have done a great job so far - Racefan gave you the nitty gritty. Just keep at it and you'll keep improving it how you want it to be.

Hi Karen: Ditto for all of the above. Is there suppose to be a picture or 3 on your website? I use IE6 and see 3 very thin lines above the names of your children. Love the song and the fact that you have found comfort through others. What a wonderful way to share your love! Have fun with your new website, you'll do great! The folks here are wonderful with giving advice, so please don't hesitate to ask!

I cant begin to imagine how you are feeling over the loss of your child, i can only offer you my condolences xxx

The words of the song are lovely but sadly on my dial up i couldnt load the music it was still trying to load after 10 minutes...maybe someone can help you with that ...i'm a beginner to so i cant help you to much..but youve made a good start and the tutorials are a really good way to begin.

Hey all, I am having trouble adding more pages...... I think I did it right but not sure ....... can sum1 help me out? I seen the site Racefan sent me 2 look at....... I cheked them out ....... not sure if I am doing sumthing wrong...... I was trying 2 add a a page I named aboutme with no space. And as well as a menu thing.

Looking good. I can see all three pictures, but Matthew is a little squished looking. Where is the link to page two at? I think I scaned it all but did not pick up on one. I there any way to narrow the music bar? Its current size makes me scroll side to side.

Hey I redid the music 2 where its in the background.... so u wouldnt have 2 stroll from left 2 right......lol I am still stuck the menu thing .... I dont know how 2 that yet..... 2 where I can link my pages nor add the rest I just maded up 2day...... Well check the page ok... by the way I fixed Matthew's pic as wel 4 ya.... Here is another poem for you if you would like to use it, I too lost a child, my daughter and also my grandson, he was just a little over 2. I lost my daughter exactly 6 weeks after the baby (her son) passed away. I know what you are going through. Then my Dad passed away six months later, this was 2003.

You are doing incredibly well considering the loss of your dear mom, I pass my sincerest sympathies on to you and then I go to your website and see another grave loss for you ... I give you all credit for being able to go forth ... you are strong and with their love and your love for them you will grow stronger.

Just a couple things to help you get started again.

Set your page widths to '800 in page properties, right click on your page, go to properties, set them there ... tick also "center in browser" .... make all your pages this way.

You've got your main page called, saved and published as index ... that's correct, just adjust your page sizing there

If you can, have your navigation bar on all the pages, this will help to navigate through your site from one page to the other

save your pages with just a name, all small letters and no spaces, join your words with _ if you want to use more than one word or do not want these words running together .... e.g. poems, save as poems, publish as poems and then when applying the link to that poems page from any other page link it as http://www.2littlebit.com/poems.html

I miss my mother so much and she was always telling me not 2 give up on making this website. She had gotten to see what I had done on here and she loved everything about it. Well, I will go and make some more pages but one problem I tried signing in to publish the pages but saying the password is wrong. How do I go about that?

You may have had a server change in your absence, but that would not have affected your password. Try downloading the latest version of Blue Voda ... perhaps it is the ip address that changed .... you can find the link to download the latest version right here in my signature ...

If it turns out to be the password, you will have to submit a support ticket to get it retrieved or a new one sent to you ....

You're doing fine, some tweaking needed.
Your page is a bit too wide, might want to move the text box to the left or reduce the font size. Avoiding the horizontal scrolls is very much appreciated by users.
Also, you might have a hidden image or text towards the bottom, rather long empty vertical space.

yes it is a very nice site love the music, there are a few misspelled letters but in all a good site, and i agree with all who has stated about the loss of your child our hearts goes out to you and to your family.

Id like to send you a song, that talks about what you mentioned on your home page...
