Hi David,

All links are working. Overlapping on Jargon buster page. On homepage there is overlapping of the "RETIREMENT....... link with the lion. THe line is going out of the box. I noticed not all underlined words/terms are links....eiter it's because you are not finished or it's becuase I'm using netscape 8.1....which is probably the case as it happened with Andys tutorials for me.

Ok I think that was it..

Very interesting site and I'll know where to go when I need help with mortage .

Your site looked great. All the links seems to work for me. I'm thankful your font size for most of text is large enough. I have a hard time reading some sites with micro sized text. Good work!

Very good job overall. On front page I noted one tiny item. Your "ror/info" graphic, is overlaying a word underneath it. Can't read the word underneath. This site is a good model for others who want to build a business site.

David the overlapping is occuring where the lines are -
'Application forms is covered by line - th 1st line;
BUY TO LET - the 1st line is covered up by line;
2nd line of CREDIT LINE is completely covered;
DISCOUNT RATE MORTGAGE is almost covered;
2nd line of FLEXIBLE MORTAGE is covered;
Top of 1st line GAZUMPING is covered;
the HEADING after Guarnator is covered;
INTEREST ONLY MORTAGE & LOCAL AUTHORITY SEARCH are slightly covered;
2nd line of LTV is covered;
slight covering of 1st line of NEGATIVE EQUITY;
PERSONAL LOAN mostly covered;
slight covering up of POOR CREDIT;
2nd line of REMORTGAGE covered;
2nd line of TRACKER RATE MORTAGE half covered;
VALUATION REPORT is covered a little at he bottom;
the TOP button is sitting on top (lol..sorry) of the last statement which is overlapping on the box above it.

Ok..I think that about covers it...remember I'm using netscape 8.1...I'll check in IE and Firefox and see what I get.

Ummm...David...I know you worked hard on it but still not fixed. THe Application form part is but rest off....sooorrry.

But on the bright side I tested your form and it seems to work..is it supposed to take me to the policy statement page after you enter? wasn't sure about that...the page with DATA PROTECTION etc.

On the data protection thing, the form checks to see if you have read that page and if not then it shows you the page...There is a dropdown which you change to YES if you have read the page.

did you not see that that was a required field??

yes ..I saw the drop down for YES/No and tested to see what would happen...if I chose NO and then resubmitted with YES and same thing happened both times.

do you want to email me that one page and let me see if I can fix it for you so you don't have to go through the trial and error...I'm pretty sure I wouldn't mick it up...lol

I have just republished the jargon page and it looks ok now from this end...

Why have www.brittanicmortgages.co.uk on this page http://youandmelinkup.info/john/contactus.html if it doesn't do anything ? Should it link back to your home page? This is the only place where it is underlined as if there was a link.

Ahhh... you know what it was... I think I had to decrease the font size (Ctrl - )on my page for it to line up with the text. ??? It looks better than it did my last visit, so I'm guessing you adjusted something... awesome! :)

My monitor's resolution is pretty high res, so since it's a laptop and somewhat small, I have to set my default dpi to a slightly higher (120?) setting so I don't have to strain.

I noticed that this tends to be a problem I've had looking at most sites. The sites look great but I can't see them the way they're meant to be seen unless I strain. If my text looks huge on my site, that's probably why. ?? I didn't think of that until now. Because it is all comfortable to me.

I believe there is a setting or multiple settings I can mess with to adjust the resolutions accordingly to get EVERYTHING proportional. Or maybe there isn't... I don't know. :)

But sweet. I figured they were people meant for something. I just had to mess my comp's settings a bit.


edit: As I looked again, I actually had to increase the text on the front page. When I checked out your "contact us" page, I adjusted the text accordingly so it "fit" (ex. the Register Now button text was too big the way I had it originally and didn't fit on the button), but when I went back to the home page without adjusting the text size, it didn't line up.

I'm sure it's a very minor detail and probably looks fine on your end. I don't think you need to look at an alternative if it's just me that has this 'problem'. It's not that bad.

No over lapping anywhere with IE. Hope it brings in the biz for you.

Every thing works well which is more than can be said for mine.
The overall fealing I get from the site is Well ... if I couldn't read, by looking at the photos and graphics I would think it were a travel site, but then again maybe you were trying to get away from the stern banking aura. also maybe a little too much info on home page, just a weebit busy

Good job David, the only thing that I think might get better is the .jpg of the lion that you have at the top of your index page, It looks like you've streached it too much, Its one of the first things that everyone will see as soon as they come in, I believe it is important. Thats my oponion.

Hi Bzzzzzzzzz, Yes I have received the page and I can see you have worked
hard...I am still trying to publish it.
For some reason its taking a long time to upload and eventually it drops out
with timeout message. (all other pages publish OK) its probable my Wi Fi.
Still, I will start to delete(a copy) item by item to see which is the probable cause.

I understand the symbolism of the lion and its association with the state,
like USA & eagel. but I think I wouild replace the lazy looking (real) lion
with a sterner Bronze or protective marble lion.

Found same problems as Beez orginally mentioned. The links ALL worked. Site is very nice and easy to follow. Wish we had some of those advantages working for us here,but I wish they had any enforcible laws here in Mexico. Great job and good luck.

Who was I talking to, oh yea David. David some of us with bad memory need to print things we want to remember. When printing your pages i get only 75% of the width 25% is off the page.

P.S. Memory is the second thing to go. I forget what the first was.

We have those flags on every page and they add power to the name.

Alas we cannot cover Scotland at this point in time but who can foretell

Most if not all my pages stay within the 800 width mark so I cannot help you as far as the printing is concerned.
But will give it some thought......

Hi David! This is the first time I've had a chance to visit your site. Looks like a lot of work put in to it. Everything looks great. The only problem I have is your nav bar with the dark part overlapping the text. Can you resize your bar to have the text fit better? I know Naval had a thread where he walked through how to do that. ..looks great, only gripe I have is that the things I thought were clickable ..wernt.. like the list of services on the front page with the red # ..i wanted to click on "worlwide properties" and see some info but couldnt so went to the site map page and that didnt show me which page to go to ..only tips 1 2 3 etc. meaning i had to go through all the tips to see if i could find the info I wanted ...but still couldnt find it, :o( and the same with the rest of the services.....I know I know ..i'm picky ..but when i'm searching for info I just want to click and go....I also thought the questions down the left side ie want a mortgage? would be clickable ... I found myself clicking all over the front page and not getting anywhere.

Apart from that youve done a great job and the site looks fab ...no overlapping on my screen and NO SIDEWAYS SCROLL! ....big tick in my book for that one lol

anything in blue and underlined is normally clickable.

But the main reason is that my client wanted it that way.

I think that "World wide Properties" are in the pipeline so that maybe
clickable soon.

My text hyperlinks are blue underlined and italic. With out all three, I wouldn't think text to be clickable.

I hope no one is insulted by my use of the word think. I know I'm often
wrong, but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

David: That is better until I do the mouseover and then the red box on the left covers up the 1st letter in each nav bar button. But it is still readable.
Thanks of the vertical line tip. I thought that was a colon. I guess I don't get around my keyboard much! lol. Now I can redo my title bars!!

Select a word of text including the space BEFORE the word
then go into INSERT>SYMBOL (top menu)
and you can find it there..................

Top right of home page:
"can you can benefit"---confusing

Clicking on tip 4 takes you to tip 3

On tip 9 "any one" should be one word---anyone

All in all a professional looking site that your client should be proud of.

David, your page site map confuses me (what's new). There is a white and grey vertical strip on the left the runs into you blue underline above it. Thought it was a croll but , no. Also there is a thicker dark bule line that is there that seems to be out of place and a thin black line on the top right. Also the word Retirement on Home page overlaps with border. The rest is great.

Here's an easy one for you david. On the Jargen buster page the text on the script named UK is new roman times when the rest of the page is ariel.

Wow....How did I miss that...well spotted.

I liked the Jargon Buster - learned a lot! But I did have difficulty reading the typeface over the background. (I know people must get bored with me saying the same thing but it can't just be me! Can it??). On your other pages you use a bold font which stands out well, but on this page you don't, and the type merges into the background.
