My New Store

Even though I don't have all my product up yet, I thought I'd Let you all take a peek and turn at bat!

I've been working on this about 3 months, and after a couple of major set backs and having to rehost it on a new account, I've got it running and programmed the way I want it to be. I have the minor tweaks and twidges as well as the product to finish up, but I need fresh eyes to take a peek too!

In addition I've add a 10% discount good just for this forum. Site is live and you can order any product that is up there. Naval, Ill be after you soon for the special order form I need to do!

There is a lot to be said for a white background, and your site is a good example of this.
I enjoy the pastel colors that you have used to make up borders. The way you have used menu boxes to create the LH border is great.
The one pixel borders are just right.
The 7 horizontal menu boxes at the top need some vertical alignment, particularly "About Us". Perhap you could indent you page text (left) 3 pixels or so, so it is not so close to the menu bars.
Great looking.

Lot of work, well done.
The sports blogs are a nice touch (now you know where I ended up).
A few categories are still empty,perhaps "check back for new products coming soon" might be a good teaser.

Ty ty all. Yeah those blogs are there for a reason Bill :) All pages should have some product next day or so, theres just HUNDREDS of colleges and my fingers get weary! The alignment on the navigation buttons is hard copy and its hard to eyeball those lil things until you actually plug them in. They arent dynamically rendered, although i suppose i could find a javascript sumplace to do that. Im going to pull my text in a little from the borders as I think zig suggested. This site is rendered totally in dreamweaver and php. And what a learning experience this has been. I will say tho, it was much easier to do than OSCOMMERCE or ZENCART, and its almost 100% programable and most of it if you read you can do yourself! I did buy a couple of modules to run in it for the more technical end of the cart. But even at that I change up layouts etc fairly easily now! All the category pages are static. I could do static product pages, but theres a few hundred products there, so Ill live with html links to them.

Thanks for the input every one! Everyone is welcome to suggest more! :)

Just a heads up, you wont learn it straight out of the box. You have to read and do, and read some more, unless you are already familiar with storebuilding etc.

My busy lil fingers are now working on the collegiate teams. I think theres roughly 9000 colleges.. lol, so Im going to do a few at a time unless i can get my supplier to do a csv feed.

If anyone has a favorite let me know, and Ill make sure to load that one up right away!

Is it sports oriented? If its sports oriented i'd be happy to help you out, and put it under collectibles if its not officially licensed. Right now, im staying pretty focused to that as far as jewelry and collectibles go on that site. If I do something else to add jewelry tho, Id be happy to add your line.
