Wink Please review initial start

Hi All,
After months of reading and watching, I finally paid and am now building site. For review is just the very start. Although not much content, I would just like your opinion on layout of links etc, more content to be added soon.

Also a small problem I cant figure out. Is each page has its own page under construction message...eg Links page under construction etc etc. The problem is it does not change to the allocated page?? Any ideas.

Thanks Darren.

Hi,
Not much there to review, or am I missing something. Your logo needs tidying up. Do you have photoshop or a similar image editing program? At present it is grainy and the edges are not ***** (still on about the logo).
Regards, James.

In photography, image is everything, you need to *****en & lighten it up, I think. The way ur using the buttons will cause you to loose valuable real estate.

Hi! Not much to report on just yet. Like the buttons.
Ditto with the comments on the logo. Try the BV logo maker can make some real nice ones if you play around with it..

Your Homepage should be able to hold your visitor and not allow him to surf away.

The navigation buttons look really good both style, and I love the layout of them.
The black background is very "Black" more content will obviously improve that.
Best of luck with the site look forward to seeing more

Hi Darren,

Have you considered increasing the size of your pictures as they are almost thumbnails and don't show off the quality of your work.

Maybe take one of your best shots, one with a semi nutural area (sky or water etc) and replace the block you are presently using, your writing can be placed over the picture.

Using the rollover feature with your smaller pictures can also work well. This is an example of a picture from your site with a couple of fun changes www.addobackpackers.com/darren's_example.html Notice the size of the pictures (this is as per your site pics) rather reduce them to the actual size your are going to use. (reduces kb or load time and stops people from "borrowing" your pictures)

Hope this get's the ideas flowing, I was in the same boat 3 months ago...
You are going to have loads of fun with BV.

Cheers,

Hi Playitbybeer

Thanks for having a look, the site is by far still under construction. I have been floating around Voda for months, and I love it. These pics were just something to fill the space for the moment to make home page look more filled. I do like your idea of the pic behind text will change tomorrow. Out the front of my house is a lovely bay which i can see will be the perfect pic for what you are saying. Using the rollover features for the home page would make the customer think they do something. So i dont know whether to do it. If they linked to something yeah. The right handside bottom is actually a pic of me and wife.

You have got more juices flowing, thankyou. Anymore suggestions i welcome and keep an eye on the home page in next day or so for the new pic....Also what do you think of the layout etc of portraits page...then the page of kaylum and mason....these are some pics of my boys.

Thanks Darren
