Default Would appreciate comments. Thanks

I would really apreciate if you could have a look at my site and tell me what you think. I'm a bit concerned about the keywords I have to use to make it more appealing to the SE's. I've read somewhere here in one of the threads that "keyword density" is quite important and that it should be between 3% and 7% of the page content for each important keyword in the page. Does anyone know anything about that? Here is the site: www.nzbrtours.com

Many thanks in advance.

NZBR

Hi NZBR,

An site analyzer such as http://www.widexl.com/remote/search-...-analyzer.html found little/no problem with your keywoods etc. Your key word density is showing new zealand tours high, which I'm sure are your main key words.

Some basic site problems:
  • page size is large
  • pages not centred
  • top left pic (queensland) won't open for me
Shame about the Super14...

Cheers,

Hi Playitbybeer,
Thanks for the review!
- When you say "page size is large" you mean that you have to scroll down to see it, right? Because the width is ok, isn't it?
- How do I centre the page?
- The pic. looks ok for me, but will check it.

Thanks again

NZBR,

"page size is large" is regarding the width (I see it fine without sideways scroll) but those 'in the know' suggest 800pix which means regardless of individual visitors screen size they'll be able read without the 'evel sideways scroll'-
How do I centre the page? right click next to the page in BV > page properties> centre in browser
The pic. looks ok for me, is the jumper going to land in the water? had another look and working fine.

Shame about the super14

Hi nzbr,

I spend loads of time on travel sites and when I notice a picture of interest (you have loads) I mouseover to find out more, before I actually open the link, so a suggestion is to take your pictures 'alt text' from the present name only to more of a description. eg. mouseover on the 'south island' picture could read 'Miss South Island Competition 2007' Just kidding but I think you get the idea.

Cheers,

PlayItByBeer,

Agree: shame about the super 14!

No, the guy is not landing in the water If you look close you see a boat puling him! (You can't see the cable). I also like the pictures in my site. I've taken most of them myself. It's easier when you are a tour guide in NZ and are in those beautifull places all the time!

I've been working almost daily on my site (I've put a news board that I update quite often - now, here in NZ it's all about the America's Cup! We're in the final of the Louis Vuitton Cup!). Any ideas about what else I could do to attract Google and Yahoo?

Thanks

You have changed your keywords since we first chatted and now have to many ??? This tag contains too many keywords.
This tag contains 28 keywords. This is too many for what we would consider a 'robot friendly' web page. The maximum number of keywords we recommend for this tag is 20.
Also they shouldn't be in caps.

I'm a member of plenty of the top travel forum's, sharing help or advise on SA/Addo travel. If it's straight increased site listings, this is a good method, as the SE spider forums almost daily (Include your web address in your signature as this what is listed). Maybe consider starting your own forum within your site. There is a good forum (php bb2) included in our CP.

Cheers,

nzbr,

About the forum topic... My partners and myself have found that 'tourists' are more inclined to book with 'people/guides/operators' who have prooven their ability to help with the overall holiday (outside of a tour) and they can also read tour reviews and follow other travellers topics. A forum will do this for you and it also brings a captured (interested) audience to your site.

Cheers,

Went to that page you've recommended to check the site.

It's saying:

Keywords meta tag contains no errors.
This tag contains 17 keywords and 185 characters.
Keyword relevancy to page content is excellent.
The keywords relevancy to page content is 100%.

Is it ok?

Other question: How do I become a member of your forum? Where should I go to? (which address?)

Cheers

Sorry, that's weird, do you have another site called www.nzbr.com ??? as it's similar and the one I checked. On your site you mentioned that you update the content regularly, maybe add robots meta tags of about 4-7 days (tells spiders to return often)

Regarding forums:
My forum is www.addoadventure.com/forum if you would like to have look or otherwise www.aardvarktravel.net is global.

Yes, I do have the www.nzbr.com that a friend of mine did for me. But it's in Flash and useless for the SE's. I'm going to finish with this one.

When I found VodaHost I decided to do it myself (a new site). And HTML is the way to go (regarding SE's). www.nzbrtours.com So, 17 keywords... good?

I'm already reading about forums. Sounds great! Lot's of work to build one, I guess. In my case it would have to be related with tourism in New Zealand. That's what I've got so far: you have to know your stuff as a forum owner!

Cheers

Hi again,

Have just checked your 3 sites. Looks nice all those animals!
I was thinking that mabe you would like to exchange links. In your page: http://www.addoadventure.com/links.html there's a space for links you call "usefull links". And in my site I have: http://www.nzbrtours.com/links.html
where I can put yours if you wish. Both sites have to do with tourism, so why not?

Cheers

Your keywords are fine, have you made use of the free SE submission which BV offers new accounts??? The rest is up to SE timing, allow some time for them to fully list you, I worried about this until a month ago (now have 623 listings with google for first site www.addoadventure.com)

The forum in your CP> fantistico is a great tool and easy to build, setup and run. The only proplem with any forum is people with nothing else to do, better known as spammers. But there are some great mods which are available in the forum's forum to stop this.

Cheers,

Cool, thanks.

We've posted almost at the same time! Have you read my last post about exchange links?

nzbr,

Your link is up. I'm going to re-design www.addoadventure.com as it started off life as funky and has become load, but the link section will remain...

Cheers,
