Hi whiteshepherd,
Very nice page.
Didn't get it: when you go on 'news & information', the options on the side are: "Al", "Bc", and "Be". I don't know what they stand for. Something related to dogs? If not, maybe they should be clearer so everyone knows where they are going to click on.

Cheers,

Hi nzbr ...

thank you for your comments but I don't see what you see ... I see what is supposed to be on the menu ...articles; buying a puppy; and better feeding ... but I reloaded the page just in case ... maybe it's just a glitch somewhere in cyberspace ... does anyone else see what nzbr is seeing ... I'd be inerested in knowing if you do?

Got it. Those are the 2 inicial letters of your next page's tittle. It shows only the inicialns when I use M.Firefox. I changed for a second to IE and I can see the entire link! All good with IE!

Hi, only note on the image. Unless using some real specialist image software. It real bad to enlarge an image by stretching it out using the handles on the side of the image. It will distort & create pixilation the image. Using the handles to make the image smaller is bad, but to enlarge is really a no,no.
On this page http://www.whiteshepherds.com.au/farseercrew.html i noticed the menu doesn’t expand when using fire fox But is fine in IE. ?? Correction! It expands, but not fully. It feels like it is expanding under an image or shape. Maybe worth trying to bring this menu to the front of the page to see if it helps?

Good luck.

Hi
Pixilated main image on the home page and the intensly irritating moving title give an amateur impression which is a shame because alot of what is in the site is well constructed. Watch image sizes such as that on the home page which, inspite of being pixilated, is very large (94 kb: could be reduced to 20kb easily and probably smaller). I just think it is important to get that home page as good as you can make it, otherwise there is a good chance that is as far as your visitor will go.

Hi Collectors,

Thanks for the advice ... I've upped the pixels and the size slightly so it is now in there at its own size ... I am really learning about photos and the web and appreciate any advice ... in fact I have been reading a lot of what you say and trying to apply it ... I've also fixed the other page ...

Hi Proactivator,

Thank you for your advice ... I purposely want the pic to be big on that page and have taken collector's advice to try and rectify the matter ... if I drop it to 20 kb it will be too small .. also thank you for the thoughts about the marquee banner ... I am sorry to have iritated you ... but have taken the comment on board and stopped it so it now only scrolls once instead of twice on the main page ... will fix the others when I get some time ...

As a general comment I have never used firefox (never heard of it before joining here) and understand from seeing other posts it is common for websites to look different in firefox ... I use Maxthon and IE at work and it always looks the same in both ...

thank you again ... need all the help I can get

Hi,
Irritated is far too strong: forgive me, I let my mouth run away. It is your site and you must do as you want your site to appear. What I was saying about image size and optimisation: if you optimise down to say 20 kb or so the image will cover the same size on the page. It is just that an optimised jpeg has far less info to download so you page downloads quicker. You optimise so the image looks just as good on your screen as the 99kb image. In image optimising software (I use photoshop but I believe there is a free program many bluevoda use called pix resizer (I think) you can do all this quite easily. Have a look at the product images on my site: they are all between 20kb and 33kb in size and could be smaller, but the pages are small (in kb) so I just have not needed to go smaller because the pages load quickly anyway.Your home page is over 500kb in size and for me I would get uneasy about that: Have just looked at your home page again and the picture is not pixillated any more so well done, that is sorted but at a tad under 100kb for the image what I said about optimisation still stands. Also, the image near the top of the farseer crew page needs sorting.
Hope it all continues to go as well as it is at the moment.

Regards,
James.

Hiya, Bethers is not a bad place to get started on this side of things. Have a look at her SEO link on this page.

Good luck.
