Red face Amateur photography website. Opinions appreciated!

Whew! I'm finally finished! Maybe a bit more tweaking yet but for the most part it's ready for the net.

My few issues are image loading and horizontal scrollbar >.<. I tried to keep them small (400 at most, either height or width) and any smaller negates the slide show. I have DSL, and it's kinda slow-ish for me.

Also, is it pompous to let my readers know I'm not available to sell prints yet nor create webpages? If it is, and I *hate* assuming anything, is there a better way to say it in case I come off snotty? The quickest way to turn me off someone's work is attitude. What's your opinions on this? Did I come across okay?

Thank you all so much for your time. ^_^

great job ... it has a great feel and style ... in regards to telling people your photos are not for sale or you are not available to create websites - I would think about telling them when you are available rather than when you are not ... promote your skills when you are ready; in the meantime get your work out there and people wanting it ... just like you are ...

something I noticed your pages need to be named ... right click on an empty part of the page and selct page properties. Enter a unique title for each of your pages.

Thank you, whiteshepherd! I've renamed the main page (it's why I like frames so well-- everything stays one one webpage. I've also added a favicon, too, and took your advice about selling. ^_^

Thank you so much for your advice!

Don't change a thing! Judging by your words and your work, you probably don't have a "snotty" bone in your body! But the artist is never happy, right?! hee hee

The pages are lovely and loaded quickly, as did your photos.

There is a slight vertical scroll for me. Could it be my old monitor?

Great talent you've got there, best of luck to you.

I so appreciate your kind words, Vicki. Thank you!

The scrolling (on the entire page, you mean, and not the frame where the galleries show?) is due to the site credit and my affiliate link. I'm not one for banners (simplicity is better, IMO) but it couldn't be avoided. I would have preferred there was no scroll, but it was one of those things that couldn't be avoided.

Thanks again! {{HUG}}

Hi, the site looks nice, it’s just that some of the pages are a bit to slow in some areas for 1st time visitors. IE: http://www.ohoyo-photography.com/gal_botanical.html is well over 3000kb (3meg) & could be quite easily got down to 2-400kb max. But it would have to be using another method to display the images.

Good luck.

Nice work and good photos.

Would suggest a bit of tweaking.
-This page comes up from the botanical "back" button, and leaves visitors hanging.
-Several of your phtos open in new windows, others in same and yet others in LightBox. Bit "disorganized"
-Consider different titles for your pages.

Good luck,

Thanks, Bill :)

The reason why some photos open in a new window and others in lightbox is because the gallery hasn't finished loading. I've put up some javascript to let visitors know to wait a bit-- although I'm seriously considering trimming down the botanicals section. Not everyone has DSL. :P

And I will most certainly rename the pages. This was a rough run of my site.

Again, thank you all!
