Hi all, Its been a few years and have updated, tried different things, redone it over and over until I finally realised that simplicity was to be my goal. I tried some shopping carts and soho but realised that Im to busy doing many other things like work and family time. So I redisgned my website so I really dont have to update it as regularly as I had been. Please check it out www.jewellery2u.com.au Let me know what you think. Honestly. Kind regards Ben. |

I like it very much. As you say, it's simple and I personally like the KISS principle............ my only criticism is that you've included the button for the page you're on. On the home page, there's a home page button etc. I'd recommend removing those buttons and making it even more simple. Hell, I almost wanted to buy something!!!!!!!!! |

Personally, I say leave the link to home on your home page just unlink it. I think it keeps the pages uniform and users (in my experience) like it when the menus are the same from page to page, especially for longer menu bars. Nice site though.

| * The "Perfect Page Model" for web construct, for the "continuity" sake perspective, and simply to allow a "refresh" function all dictate that the Menu/navigation system be mirrored throughout your site wholly: leave your "Home" button where it is, keep it functional, but be sure it is not set to open a new browser (which helps you to re-consider your remaining links which currently open new browsers, which is against general hyperlinking "Best Practices"). The only "new browser" link that *might be* appropriate (50-50) is to your Online Store (which is down currently), as that is not just a different directory destination, but a different Customer expectation! .

I agree with Vasilli, the only thing that hits me, is that the platinum colored jewelery gets a bit washed out on the white background. It may be due to the color combinations chosen, but not sure.. I would tweak the colors a bit.. perhaps a stronger text color to bring it forward.. other than that, the layout is very nice. You have done a nice job.

Thanks for the feedback. On my end the only page that opens a new browser is the online store link. Im a little rattled that your experiencing new browsers when navigating my site and why you say my online store is down. Works perfectly here on my end.

Dunno.....I test sites in IE, FireFox, Slim, Opera and MSN (just to get all the nuances of form), and it was down last time I visited, but appears to be up now....... And I am connected with Premium Cable connection, as you might imagine. |
