Wink Site Check Please 50% Done

Hi! Site check please. All opinions appreciated.....

All of a sudden I'm getting a page error when the site first loads. It actually knocks me off line. When I go back...then everything is fine. IE reports a plug-in error? Is anyone else getting this error when my site is loaded?
Thanks

Zain, you have to watch the videos, and have an idea of what you want. Then start playing around, open a blank page and add items one at a time, preview it and see if you like it. Until you publish it noone else will see what you have done.

P.S. do not jump in on someone elses thread, always start your own!

Your site loads without any errors but real slow. You should look at resizing your pics, not in physical size, but in file size. That would help in the loading time for each page, because of the amount of pics you have on the pages. Also your pages have side scroll to see some of the pics, you need to cut down the width of your pages, so there isn't any side ways scroll. You have a great start, and you have done very good, just a few tweaks now. Good luck!!

On ultra-HiSpeed connection, it did hang a bit more than others, but loaded completely in 2.7 seconds error free.

Too bad you did not enable the images to display a larger view when clicked ..... I would think that something rather "required" nowadays (especially since Blue Voda includes a number of means to effect this easily).

And since many pages are yet to be loaded, I would suggest you split up the "Babes Hunks" pages into separate pages, and not just to make the Menu buttons more uniform......

All in all seems to be a site that will be both functional and profitable, if you can somehow include some descriptive text for items offered to score better in creating optimization values. Maybe you can have the mouseover actually click to an individual page where each item is not just displayed larger, but has detailed item descriptions: kill two birds with one stone?

Hi, quite a bit of side scroll as the page is set at1205px, would be better around the 1000px mark.
Four images across would of been fine.

Question Re: Site Check Please 50% Done

Thank you for your response.
Question.....Can I change the page size of the page by simply changing page properties on all the pages that are published? Then published again? Or would that mess things up? I want to stop that side scrolling.
Thank You

while your page width is set at 1205 and your banner is set at 1077 the answer to your question is you will have to do redo the pages is best bet to have pages set at 800-1000 so there will not be scrolling.

The reason I didn't do the large images is because..... my old site had the large images....then I found someone else selling my pads on ebay. If I keep them small they can't really copy an image that has good quality. Watermark them you say....anyone can get around that.
Thanks For The Advice!

Lightbulb Re: Site Check Please 50% Done

Fine. You have reasons not to display items differently, but I still find it out of normalcy to present items for sale without some kind of description (size, type, etc.) and any mention of price before "adding to cart" ...... that is a little much to expect a potential clientele base to do: conversions are made only when customers are comfortable parting with money, which, for the most part, is a carefully crafted conclusion based on providing them with the information, credibility, and details that allow them to make a reasonable decision without apparent risk.

Forcing people to add an item to their cart without knowing such important details about the item (especially price) is like asking someone to sign a blank check: ridiculous assumption. IMO.

I thought something sounded familiar ... maybe you didn't pick that up from my earlier post (above)?
Designing a site with simplicity in mind is all fine and good, but the efforts to provide visitors with information and function according to expectation is well worth it in the long run.

i like the site. it is attention grabbing.
i like the black background. it makes the color images vivid.
all previous posts are very helpful.
i really like the animated mousetail. What is he standing next to ? looks to me like an old teardrop trailer with spaceship windows!
i don't like the white text and so much of it thrown at me at the beginning.
you can break this information up over the whole page for individual impact of each selling point. or maybe a block of color with a more readable font color.
creatively you might have your index page containing one sample of each of your categories. the whole pooh thing might throw some people off. i would want something for everyone there. it'll get more people to stay and explore.
just some ideas. hope they help. just my opinion and ya know everyone has one.

Hi! On the menu there is a link for pricing. All the pads are the same price.
I like the idea about one image for each category on the index page. I may change it. But.....I've been selling pads for 10 years. Cartoon are my biggest seller.......especially eeyore.
