Post Hi, I would like your opinions

My site is called Beadeful

The thumbnails were originally suppose to be links into their picture gallery, but I didn't realize that when you click the picture it expands. Or let's say, I guess I forgot.

Anyway, the galleries will be coming, however slow. But let me know what you think so far.

Thanks for your time.

Thumbs up Re: Hi, I would like your opinions

Well Stefeni, I have checked out yor site and enjoyed looking at the pictures. You have been busy, and methodical.Well done. I hope your social site takes off but I must ask if the line about "selling wears" was an intentional pun, otherwise the correct word is "wares". All the best.

Ok...my opinion? Way toooo busy...can't see the thumbnails for the background...maybe take the background image and size it to fit the page and then work with the opaqueness?....

You have good images, maybe using pixresizer and optimizing (my opinion...use Dynamic Drive's optimizer) will bring down the size for your images for your page loading (too slow). Definitely work on background...too "in your face" at this point...

Don't take this wrong...love the background image...just need to work it to your advantage...make the background image 800 x 600 and then optimize...instead of the tiling effect you got now.

Your whole site is left justified, needs to be centered, page properties, then tick center in browser for each page.

You have done good work...just need to re-evaluate some design issues.

Blah, blah, blah,...I seen to be rambling...time to go...

Hi, Ditto with Karen on the way to busy. There is no feeling of consistence so that you even feel you are on the same site when clicking on links.

Hi Stefeni

I have to agree with Karen above. Its a cool site, but the background image has too much going on and take all the attention away from the rest of the site.

Also, the thumbnails could do with being a little bit bigger. I know they are only thumbnails and they open up a larger pic when you click them, but they could still do with being a little bigger & spaced out a bit more. Anyway, just my two cents worth. A cool looking site, and a great start, keep up the good work !

I'm sorry Stefeni, but the others are right. Your product (the most important thing on the page) is lost completely in the back ground. I would suggest (other than toning down the back ground) making the thumbs larger, to bring focus to them. Also, I almost didn't see the buttons, maybe increasing the font size or making them bold, anything to make them show up. We hope that you take our critiques positively, not as an atack on you personally, that is not ever our entention. We are just trying to help you make the best site you can. Good Luck.

Hi Stefeni,
I really like the background you have chosen, consider putting an "shape" over it.. Then grey down the shape or make it semi-transparent so that
the background is still there, however more obscure. Then make your thumbnails larger... and the font larger for your links.
Remember your main objective is to show off your wonderful craft and motivate to purchase. So make it easy for them to see!
That is my 2cents worth... hope it helps! you are off to a great start..

Editing the background is a must, as is making the rollovers preload the rollover pictures (I might be wrong about the rollovers, as my internet is so slow at the moment, but it seems as if they don't preload the pics).

Greetings everyone. Thanks SO MUCH for your replies. I will get the background OUT-TA there. Seems very bothersome to everyone that took a look. This thumbnails will be resized as well as the size of the text.

"Wears" was intentional - thanks for pointing that out.

Gosh! I really do appreciate everyone's thoughts. Thanks again.

Much improved! The only thing is I could not navigate back to your homepage after I navigated to the pages created in MSoffice.
I like the slide show on your home page!

Wink Re: Hi, I would like your opinions

Hello Gold Paw, Thanks again for checking back in. I guess I will need to change "main" (which will take you back to the Index Page) to HOME or something. Any suggestions regarding that are very welcomed.
Stef

Hi Stef, I went back to your website and had a bit of trouble with the navigation. Perhaps you are working on it today.
Perhaps instead of linking from your "beadeful.net" site directly to the other store sites, how about linking to the contents... I can see why I was confused before as each store has its own "path" back to its own "home page". What I was thinking is that the front page of the "beadeful" site is actually a directory to the contents available for sale at each store. Does that make sense? Is that what you were thinking?

If not, then we need to get on the same page. I don't want to lead you down the wrong path.
