Default my first big site with video and music

this is a site i created for a band in nashville, tn., the limitations.
it isn't 100% as we would like but both parties have been very busy.
the video which is swf is easily done thru tech smith's camtasia.
it converts wmv to swf (the only converter i tried that actually works.)
it has several skins and control options and it makes a html file for you to copy and paste into bv. it costs $300 bucks but it is worth every penny as you can also create a personal page that allows friends and family to easily see video of your life.
the music box is from wimpy and that took a while to create.
if you have photoshop skills and some patience you can get one as cool as this.
wimpy allows the music to be played but not downloaded. cool!
enjoy and send suggestions.

Thumbs up Re: my first big site with video and music

I love it: "The world's oldest struggling band"!!
And the fact you enlisted "the fifth limitation" to do the work!! Long-suffering spouse, no doubt!

Looks, works, and comes across all good, Kemosabe. Congratulations.

thanks for the kudos. this was a work of appreciation for a unique band by a fan, not a long suffering spouse.
although the old joke always applies.
what do you call a musician without a girlfriend?
homeless !

Hi Journey,

I had a chuckle at your home page content... but that's as far as I could go, none of the links seem to be clickable or active. It looks like you have 'published your content or text as image' (sometimes used in a small way in order to use fancy fonts or if you are using fonts which are not websafe). Unfortunately Google reads these files as pictures and has little to no keywords to allocate to the site.

I will check back as I'm keen to see the rest.

Cheers,

Hi Journey,
Cool, I can get around the site no problem.

Search Engines (google) "read" through the content of your various pages and allocate keywords or search words to your site. When someone types their search phase or word eg. "old band" in a Search Engine (google), one of your pages containing this search word (often and correctly positioned for strength) will then show up... hopefully first on page one. LOL By converting all of your text to image you no longer have any "text or content" for the search engines to find and allocate as keywords, as it is now an image. This greatly reduces and restricts how your "music loving" visitors will find your site.

Cheers,

thanks playitbear for explaining that.
thx pchomnalez for your remarks.
the project got dropped for a while and we are picking it back up again
as the band is going back into the studio.
we never got as far as the paypal or search engines.
we threw it together pretty fast because the graphic artist who did the cd cover put the url for the bands old site on the cd and it was a poorly designed site. so i got rob to host with voda.
here is a gift for anyone who reads this. free summertime mp3 !
