Talking New Store in Soho

Finally got www.grannyscountrynook.com moved to voda and used SOHO, as this was a pretty big store to do from scratch. As I posted in another thread, I had no internet for a month, so im wayyyyyyyy behind schedule.

I have a few tweaks and meta tags to dab in yet, but I think ive got most of the finished product up and moving. My hits were down too, from moving, but seem to be coming along nicely.

Btw... do we still get free voda hits for one site? Let me know if we do, I can use them after this interlude.

Please dont think you are giving me anything negative when you give criticism here. What i hand out I can take, and its NOT negative if it helps me improve a thing.

Hey, Karen!

Great work!
Makes me feel like I am really lagging at this point on my Soho project!

No, VodaHits isn't free, but VH WILL submit your site once for free to get you going. I would think you might wait until you have ironed out more of the wrinkles you indicated....

Ty, I had to have the skeleton up, and Ive got most of them in there, but gives me time to think on my h1 tags and keyword emphasis this way.

Cool Re: New Store in Soho

Thanks all of you! I just tweak the manufactures descriptions a bit. And the pictures i compressed them all in *** to about 50% to load them up faster. Its pretty easy to do, if anyone needs to do it, I have photo shop too, so, I can probably go thru or find a tutorial on how to do it. Took me maybe 15 minutes to do several hundred compressions by running a BATCH rather than an individual pic. Course ftping them on dial up took considerably longer, but its worth it in load time for sales.

That's why for those who do not have additional software, we recommend the following tool:

pix resizer >> http://www.vodahost.com/pix.htm

Again....Great Job, Karen!

hehehe... yeah, I'm a huge sports fan. I live in Houston, TX (USA) so I'm very much a "city" boy. :) But I grew up playing all kinds of sports and am a fan of hockey, football, baseball... pretty much everything.

I look forward to seeing the new site. :)

Good deal! Im working on it right now, and Im hoping its more of Niche market than home decor, where i compete with MILLIONS. When I get it ready to go, Ill post it! Im hoping to set up some discounts, like for forum members, thats one of my side projects, and I am even thinking about making a site for my special folks, like members here and other forums for them to submit their store and their discounts and kinda make it private, so we can promote each other, as a favor to each other.

Think thats a good idea?

Karen

Since I've been watching this store in progress - hard to find anything to pick at now :) - just want to tell you what a great job you've done. I love how you've learned to customize lots in Soho - and know I'll be turning to you when I build using it instead of Voda!

You really have shown what Soho can do.

Well, Thank you Beth! Knowing the merciless tyrant you are <joke> I take that as a compliment. And the best part is... I sitll have hair! It was a learning curve, but I was determined to work it, as I punched the kill button where it was live at! So it was more of a DO IT or DIE!

What an amazing professional looking site. I'm very impressed. Lovely items, loaded fast, attractive layout just makes you want to buy! I thought the colour scheme was excellent, and I found everything clear and easy to read!

Very well done! I tried, but found nothing to comment on negatively!
