Thread: lost domain

I cannot believe it! I have lost my domain, a years bloody work and a budding community gone! Why was I not reminded that my account was due! Now someone has purchased my domain name. I am so angry.

The thing is I knew my account was up for renewal this month, I was expecting notification from voda and yes it's english warbow

Oh no not the archery site...that's so sad...I have it as one of favs....so any options on what to do? Can you appeal to the company who has it to give it up or could you getthe .org or .net one for now

I don't know bee, I've just found out. I knew that my years hosting was going to be up shortly and was expecting an email from vodahost with a reminder that it was due and of course I would have paid, but I've gone through my various email accounts and can find no trace of such.

Yep done that. Just found out that I can put in a bid for a minimum of $200 for my domain name.

First of all, you dont just lose a domain like a set of car keys.
If you purchased a domain through us, we will send you no less
then 3 automated renewal notices to the email address we have
on file for you, failure on your part to comply with the renewal
payment requests will result in lose of domain....

Even when your domain has has been repossessed for lack of payment
you still have 60 days to buy it back before it goes back on the market.

Did you not notice your domain was offline?

That is good news, but I do swear on my life that I have not had any automatic updates, I have been expecting them and it was on my to do list to check up for tomorrow! The domain only ran out yesterday and only went 'pear shaped' a couple of hours ago. Sorry if panic mode set in and I hope I haven't overly annoyed anyone but these things do get taken to heart, if you'd like to give me the bobbing head avatar thing VH!

All paid and very happy now, stress levels in house now much reduced! My worries were for my own little but enthusiastic community, we've never had a voice until now, without Vodahost we would not have a voice.

Forums are like emails it's sometimes very easy for the tone to be misunderstood sorry to anyone that I may of upset I didn't mean to. It may sound odd but I know someone who would only be to glad to snap up the domain name to make us look bad! In fact where else could you go where you could you go on line and whinge (panic) because say something has gone wrong with your gas bill, have the head bloke come in and sort it out? Just here and thats why this is my home.
