Thread: .co.nz - how do I transfer domain

Hello everyone - new today!
Got a problem already. I read the info on transferring domains and then found this:

Only domains with the below exentions may be transferred to VodaHost.

.com / .net / .org / .info / .us / .biz / .co.uk / .org.uk /.ca

HELP - the domain I want to transfer is .co.nz Does anyone know what do I do?

Hi, I was told on one of my posts that vodahost will transfer your .co.nz domain. You can also redirect to.

Please point your nameservers to VH. It has the same effect as transfering. The only difference is that you will continue to pay for your domain name renewal, every year, to your nz registrar, and you will pay for the hosting to VH. This is what almost ALL national tld domain owners (. it, .fr, .de etc) do, as most countries in the world do not allow transfer of national tld's outside their boundaries.

This is false information, you can not transfer a .co.nz domain name out of NZ. .co.nz domain names are heavily controlled and regulated by NZ goverment.

thanks for that info as I was sure that it was possible. If one wants to have a .co.nz name for main domain name then how is this possible? Does one have to use another host and pay for another hosting?

You can purchase only the domain name from nz, then you point the nameservers of this domain name to your VH account. It takes about two minutes to do so.

Just purchase domain name from a local NZ company, you can host it with us by updateting the name servers.
