    Default Consumer survey website

    Can I do this?

I'm working on a project for a client who is considering running an online survey for his customers. I'm thinking I can buy an add-on website (it would be up much less than 6 months), design it in Soholaunch, promote/email his customers to visit the site to share their responses, opinions. (I would be the only one managing the site, not the client.)

    Questions:
    1. Am I breaking any Voda rules, like spamming, third-party sales?
    2. How would I track/capture their responses?
    a) Do I create my own database or does Voda have a tool for that. (Is that what MySyl is?)

If the project is for a client - then he needs to have his own account. You cannot build customers sites on your account. And I'm sure he could afford the monthly hosting for as long as the site is up. And just maybe he could find another use for the site after this.

You would have to create a form and database to match your needs.

The client should have his own account, even for only six months.

When you email the customers, include a link to a survey form which will be on the site.

You will need to create (it is ver easy, following the wizard) a MySQL database where the form info will be stored.

Than you need, as said, a form, and the necessary form script, that will store the info in the database.

You can create the form in BlueVoda, and use ABVFP to process it and have the info stored in the database, or you can use FMP wich will also do the same thing.

If this is an operation where survey results are going to be exported from the database once, at the end of this 6 month period, then you don't need anything else. At the end of the survey, you can download the database content as Excel file, and have it on your computer.

If, instead, you need to view the info stored, in a regular basis, then you will need something that would allow you to easily browse and manage your database content. Have a look at our site, by clicking on my signature link.
