Thread: subdomain help needed

Hi there
I have my main website name but i want to add on a sub domain
but i am not sure how to do it.
when i write the name of the subdomain i just get the parent directory and not a normal webpage
could someone please explain to me how to do this but in a language that i can understand. As i read the ftp directions and understood nothing
simple baby step by step language. and do not worry how basic the explanation is many thanks

Hello!

Go to www.typeyourdomainhere.com/cpanel and sign in.

Go to Sub-domains, and there you go! When you want to publish, it will say public_html .. put public_html/(thesubdomainname)

Let me know..

1)....go into your Cpanel and select the subdomains icon
enter a name, then save.

This will then create a new folder named as above.

If your main domain name is http://mysite.com
then your subdomain mame will be http://mysubname.mysite.com

Now to publish to mysubname use
public_html/mysubname

and thats all there is to it.................

Hi thanks for all your help I will do that now as I am setting up a little bijoux shop I think i will maybe get another domain name, but to try it out i willfirst publish to subdomain, also if i buy a new domain name can i just transfer the pages with all the information on them to that (obviously not the pay pal but the actual layout)
