Question transferring domain <60 days old

Oops. Registered domain elsewhere before I realized I could do it here. Just did it yesterday so it's still within the first 60 days. Is there still a way to transfer or an alternative for the next 60 days so I can still publish?

Hi Scuba Girl

You cannot transfer until the 60 days, however your alternative is to point your domain to your voda servers. You do this where you have purchased your domain ... you or your register must make the change ... You then add it as an "Add-On" Domain in your control panel ....

There are tutorials for this if you need help.

As well you will need a Voda Hosting account to publish, have your purchased that yet?

thanks for the quick reply. i do have a hosting account - guess i just need to wait till i can do that "add-on".

just out of curiosity, when it says a page was "successfully published", what does that mean exactly? i am able to acces my index page from the temp URL. is that what it's referring to until i can get my domain transferred or pointed to voda servers?

CiCi

You can POINT it to voda now. You dont have to wait 60 days for your site to show up. Sign into where you bought the domain at, and put in the voda host server numbers.

Red face Re: transferring domain <60 days old

Hi Scuba Girl,
I am a newbie to this whole shebang and I am in the same dilema as you. I tried to make transfer of my domain name (only a day old) hee hee to voda but when I come to the last part of transfering, I was told to fill in the authorization key.

There, I am stuck. OOOps! I goofed.

Wonder what I can do next? Anybody can assist out there....kinda lost

Nope you didn't goof, but you have to get the authorization key from wherever you are currently. You can log into your control panel there and look for it, or (easier) call them and ask what it is or email them and have them email it back to you,
Just went throught this myself..
good luck. Be persistant, it'll work.

It doesn't matter if you have the auth key or not, if the 60 day grace period hasn't passed its not going to let you transfer it.

FYI - I figured it out. For anyone else with the same problemo, enter nameserver only, not IP address. It works!

Hi Liz and all,
LOL! What a great community! Looks like it's kinda fun joining in the conversation. Is this really a hosting company?.....:) Thanks Liz and all for the assistance. Guess I have to wait out the ehm... 60 days (sounds like an incubating period)..LOL!

Never knew there's such a rule that exists! By the way I am from Singapore and I like to greet everyone with a big HELLO!

You can order your VodaHosting account and begin building your website with the free blue voda software, and point your domain to voda servers. No need to wait, you can become a member of VodaHosting today.
