Thread: Domain landing page

Hi Guys and Girls...

Right where do I start lol.. My main domain is jobsatjobsearch.com and I have an addon domain call babychats.co.uk.. I have called my home page as index which is in a subfolder for some reason when you type in babychats.co.uk your not landing on my home page I'm having to redirect it using my cpanel the only way it will work is if i redirect it using a subdomain at present i'm using this http://babychats.jobsatjobsearch.com/kezz/index.html its silly I just want to be able people to type in my babychats domain and land on the home page.. Can any one help me pretty please lol..

Not spying on you don't panic! I always keep an eye on these forums, have been with BV a while now and built many many sites.

I think your problem is best discussed over the phone because it's very difficult sometimes to just try and talk someone through a problem rather than post after post, and it saves me sitting here waiting to see if each stage works or not.

Listen, if you are worried about calling me get your fella to call me or I am happy to call you (my phone calls are free as long as it's to a landline)

My intentions are only to help you out, we all had problems when we first started with BV and so I , as many others on here, know what you are going through. I am not trying to sell you anything and I won't charge you a penny I promise.

Alternatively, if you really are worried about calling me, send me an email about your problem as if I have to do this by text I would rather do it via email than loads of posts on here.

Hi ya sorry if I sounded rude.. Right well I really can't call today but wednesday morning I can?

LOL, don't worry I didn't take it too bad! You didn't sound rude at all, as a male I think nothing of calling a stranger but I guess as a female to call a complete stranger may be a bit daunting. Hence why I never asked you for your number, I asked you to call me.

I work from home so you can call anytime of the day or night up until 10pm so don't worry about that. I am 100% certain I can solve your domain problem, I just need to find out exactly what you have done so talking face to face as it were would be much better.

Maybe I can help you now.

If your main domain is http://www.jobsatjobsearch.com and you have named, saved and published a page as index and published it to public_html directory via your ip publishing address all should be good. I do not see an index page for this domain ... I recommend you download the latest version of blue voda and begin doing this.

If you have successfully added the domain name http://www.babychats.co.uk in your control panel under "Add-On Domains" and have this domain name pointed to voda servers (yours are 7 & 8 - , which I think you do) then all should be good ...

You create your own folder on your own computer called babychats and create a new index page for this new domain name, save the .bvp file in your newly created folder on your computer (should go into My DOCUMENTS/ BLUE VODA) then you would name, save and publish this page as index to public_html/babychats

You should be good to go if you follow through this advice .... I see you have a folder kezz somewhere in that domain url above, not sure why you have that? You don't need it.

What server are you on??

Well you should really put in a support ticket and ask for help if you have done everything all correctly ...

They will look into this for you and find out where the problem occurs ...

Are you sure you added your domain on in your account as an "Add on Domain" and have published an index page for both???

Do you have baby chats in a kezz folder?? Or is babychats in the public_html directory ?? Where did you add baby chats ??

Hi ya I do have babychats as a subfolder then under babychats I have a subfolder called kezz.. I no longer have the index page in the kezz folder but its now under babychats folder which I'v set up the addon domain. I have used the add on domain using my cpanel yes.. Yes babychats is under my public_html.. Its goes public_html/babychats/kezz but i'm no longer using the kezz folder.

If the baby chats is actually inside of the public_html directory (that you have to click and go into the the public_html directory to see if)
then try publishing a page called index - all small letter to public_html/babychats and see if that works ...

I'v just subitted a support ticket there's something not right here its gonna be something so simple lol I appreciate your help thank you.

Main domain is http://wwwjobsatjobsearch.com and she is now adding on a new domain http://www.babychats.co.uk

A new index page is required to be build for the new domain and this new domain needs to be published to it's new directory public_html/babychats which is automatically created when you ADDON a Domain ...


KEZZ:

You could try deleting the "Add On Domain" and then "Adding it on Again" and then create an index page, and publish to public_html/babychats

Lol you back again lol... Right well i'v done everythink you have put there step by step which I done in the first place and its still not working.. I would like to point out that i'm not a complete beginner lol so LADYEYE I know how to spell index and all in lower case lol but thanks..

Now you understand why I can't help you with this problem through here... It's an easy problem but very difficult to explain.
