Thread: how long does it take for the transfer

I read that the domain can be transfered between 24-48 hours, I submitted it on the 7th and would like to know if there is something wrong or if I can speed it up some how? I got an email today that says to verify it but it says it can still take another 5 days.

My domain is fashioneasta.com

We do not control the transfer time, we put in the request with you current company. It is up to them to transfer it to us in a timely manner (48 hours), the biggers ones are very fast. The smaller micky mouse ones take their time. Please contact them and express your level of unhappiness in their delays....Also contact our help desk and see if you have forgotten to do something.

You can point your domain nameservers from your control panel and then the nameserver will populate the change in 24 to 48 hours.. but most domain HOST transfers take five to ten days. 2 different things.

So you could point your domain NAME to vodahost anytime. If you are transferring the domain hosting.. thats what takes longer.

Sorry I don't know how to start a new thread but my message is related to the above. Shortly before discovering Vodahost and registering www.paulhannaux.com, I had registered another .com domain name with dotster.com without asking them to host it as all this is new to me. I have gone to my CPanel and addon domain to add in this domain name. My question is did I do the right thing and should I just wait a few days before the update takes effect? Thanks for your advice. s(:

If you registered this domain with dotster.com and didn't say anything different then you ARE asking THEM to host it?

If you want to build your site through BlueVoda then you need to either contact dotster.com asking them to repoint the servers to your Vodahost account servers (Details in your welcome email) or you log into a control panel area of dotster.com (If they allow you to do this) and reset the settings yourself.

After you point your nameservers to your VH account, 6 - 24 hrs are required (usually) for your VH addon to become accessible through the net
