No...do i need to get a new domain name or do i just change the name of my domain.If i do have to get a new domain name do i have to pay for the domain name i don't use and the domain name i do use.

Once you purchase a domain name, its yours until your registration expires. You cannot change a domain name. You must purchase a new one.

Yes you have to pay for both, because you will own both, even if you choose to use only one.

You can try, but don't hold your breath. This is not the forum for this, but you may try searching the internet for domain auctions.

If you are not wanting the old domain name you can merely not renew it at renewal time ...
