Maybe this thread will help. Look at post 14 in the thread: Add-On Domain and Sub Domain

Your main site is catpetalogue.com, right? When you publish pages for this site, you must publish to public_html

Your add-on domain is magicpallete, com. When you publish pages for this site, you must publish to public_html/magicpallete (if this is the folder you have created).

To call your individual sites you simply type the urls as you have them in the first post above. www.catpetalogue.com and www.magicpallete.com

No worries about how the CP trees your sites, that is normal. You can test it here: www.catpetalogue.com/magicpallete/index.html You can see that you can open magicpallete in two ways, just showing that it is an add-on domain to the main site. You will however only promote the site by advertising it as w.magicpallete.com

    I hope this will help.

If you haven't solved your problem yet, and you do not have something that you are worried about deleting with this new add-on domain, I would go into cp and delete the folder magicpallete and delete it from where you added it, either sub-domains or add-on domains, add-on domain being one you recently purchased, or subs you add freely within your control panel .. choose either, BV will create the folder for you, that will be done and then publish as explained above to either folder - public_html folder is the main and add the /nameofaddonorsub for this
