Thread: Looking to connect my domain name to a new website I have just built!

Hi...

I have recently finished building a new website... I have parked my new domain in the "add on" in the control panel. How do I connect my new domain with my new website?

If you have also pointed this new domain to your voda host servers you can begin publishing your newly built pages to the domains directory.

If this is your main domain with your voda host account you publish to public_html

If this is an add on domain to your voda host account you publish your pages to public_html/nameofnewdomain

This is my second domain name that I transferred from Go daddy to vodahost.

This is not my main domain name.. This domain name is for a brand new website!

I tried to publish the domain name with the second suggestion you gave me which was public_html/creditcardsnointerest.com but it came back to me saying that there was an error. The error read - ERROR 550 cant change directory to public_html/creditcardsnointerest.com: No such file or directory.

Where am I going wrong? What should I do next?

You have to log into the main cpanel and create an addon domain. Then, point your domain to the server, then publish files to the NEW domain and the folder will then exist.

Hi Karen..

I'm sure I did this already...

The problem is.. is that When I go to publish my new site with my new domain name creditcardsnointerest.com - It comes up with 404 error... When I type in my first website domain.. its actually gone and published my second website if you follow me.. So its actually crossed over.. I have saved my second site in new folder... I'm still lost here..

any one else got any suggestions?
