    Default co.za

I currently have a Vodahost account but it is .com.

I want purchase a .co.za local domain and then host it on my Vodahost account. Do I have to tell the people registering the domain name anything. What do I then have to do and what info do the people registering my name have to give me...

Anyway answers please write in simple computer terms - I am blonde!

    Hi Karen,

Until we get more of our fellow South Africans to use VH's great services, we can only add .co.za domains to existing VH account by way of add-on domain and requesting that the DNS settings of the .co.za domain are changed and pointing to your VH account.

You'll be able to check your VodaHost DNS settings etc here and then as the registrar of the .co.za domain you'll need to send a request and new settings to the SA boy's.

    Cheers,

    Hi Karen,
I just want to add to what Andrew is explaining. I have just helped two fellow South Africans to purchase a .co.za domain. You can register it here http://co.za/
It does not have to be only an add-on domain with Vodahost; it can be a main domain. BUT, if you already have an account with VH, then you don't need to open a new account; you can then create an add-on domain with VH as Andrew has explained. Click here for the tutorial.

For your add-on, find out from VH your Name Server information (the ns1 and ns2 details). You will need this with the local registrar with registering a new domain with them. The Registrar would like to have this info:
    Primary server FQDN:
    Primary server IPv4 glue:
    Secondary server FQDN:
    Secondary server IPv4 glue:

Follow the instructions on the Registrar's website.

    Sorry Karen,

I just read the blonde part now LOL
I hope the boy's from SA have given you enough ammo to get your .co.za domain sorted out. Thanks Tommie

    Karen,
Have your VH Account DNS settings handy, because if I'm not mistaken the first .co.za domain I purchased for a customer asked if you would like to enter alternate (VH) server settings during one of the stages of registration.

    Hi Andrew,

I hope you are keeping well.

I am still working hard to make our site better for the boys.

We are coming down to your neck of the woods twice this year PE and East London.

Drop me a mail and we can maybe touch sides

    Rob,
Getting together for one or two in the 19th sounds excellent.
Are you playing the new Jack Nicholas course in St Francis? I bought a spot there last year which included membership and I'm yet to play the course, the clubs are getting rusty and so am I. LOL

    Hi Andrew,

We have the SA Boys u16 in East London and a National order of merit in PE. If Ryan my son keeps up his golf he will make the later. He is playing the former and therefor Dad should go with.

I would just love to play East London again as it is my second favourite after Hans Merensky.

But the 19th so far on any of those courses is the best I will drop you a mial - closer to the time
