Thread: Confused

Hi,

Can you please tell me ....is transfering a domain name the same as pointing a domain name? i'm not sure what to do.

I have a .co.uk domain name registered elsewhere..then had it pointed to the host i was with i then registered a new .com name and now i've joined voda , i now also have a .net that i registered with voda (the .net i can use as a separate site so is not the issue)...but i would like my .co.uk to be my main domain ......this is all the same website ...confused yet?..thers more.

What i'm attempting to do is ..build a real estate based website...one for the UK = .co.uk....and one for the USA = .com.....same layout but slightly different content..

So i'm asking wich way is best for me to do this ....transfer or point or are they the same thing?

Pointing = Keeping your domain name at your current registrar and changing your name servers to ours.
Transfering = Transfering your domain name to VodaHost.

Both have the same end effect. Pointing is faster.

I have just bought a domain name elsewhere and know I cannot transfer it to Vodahost for 60 days. I also read your comments about Pointing ("Keeping your domain name at your current registrar and changing your name servers to ours".). Does that mean that I could then create and maintain the website using Blue Voda ? I only just started using your web builder today and and have about 7 pages ready so far, including forms. It's just great!)

Thank you for the quik reply, if i point both domains to vodahost then will i be able to use my .co.uk as my main site and then link the .com one to that? ...for instance ...do the work i need to do on the .co.uk then do the work i need to do on the .com then link the two together by say ...2 flags of each country by clicking on them?

nope thats it...just give the name servers 24-48 hours to propogate.
