Thread: DNS Question

Hi,thanks for reading.

Im pretty confused here.
I bought a domain name for a website ive been building for quite a while.
The name i though of using was RaiRevolution.Com.
My friends thought it was a great idea,so i bought it.

But now if i type in Rairevolution.com in the address bar, it comes to a total differnt page!Its something about dogs and cats!

Your domain isn't pointing to a site about dogs and cats, it's going to a registrars landing page because your DNS server settings are not set to your VH servers yet. If you purchased the domain through VH then put a support ticket in asking them to change it. If you bought outside VH then email your registras asking them to change it or log-in to your domain control panel and set it yourself.

Your domain is pointed to:
dns1.name-services.com
dns2.name-services.com
dns3.name-services.com
dns4.name-services.com
dns5.name-services.com
You must point to your VodaHost DNS

ok then, what do i do then?

It would help us if you could tell us where you purchased your domain. Was it through Vodahost or somewhere else? Do you have control over your domain servers or do you have to go to a registra. A little more information will get you your answers quicker. Thanks

If you purchased your domain name or a hosting account thru VodaHost; then try this step-by-step process that I made up and it worked for me.

well i went to publish my website through the bluevoda website builder thing,and it brought me to this page:
http://vodahost.com/order.htm

I used Option A and filled it in from there.

In that case, put a support ticket in and ask if they can set the domain settings for you. That's all you should need to do.
