Question Help with ad domain

CLIENT ID #20746
housesitamerica.com

I have housesitmexico.com domain, I purchase an extra domain, housesitamerica.

In my public_html folder i have 3 sub directories:
housesitamerica
housesitamerica.
housesitamerica.com

What did I do wrong? are the three supposed to be there and if so in which one do I publish?

Hi,

There should only be one without the .com.

When you add a domain it is called an "Add-on Domain"
When you added on the additional domain an FTP account
was automatically created.

Check the ftp in cPanel to determine which is the correct one and delete the others.

Hello

At the moment when you publish your main site housesitmexico.com you publish to public_html

When you publish new site you publish to public_html/housesitamerica.com

Regards

Darren

OKAY ... Please go into your control panel, add on domains and delete the add on domain you created ..

Then log out .. log back in and go and look in your public_html directory and see if you simply created another folder by this name .. if so .. delete that as well ..

Add the domain on again ..

take note how it is added on ... it will tell you whether or not the .com is added for publishing .. if it is you will use it, if not you won't
(a few control panels are different right now .. some using .com and some not) - this will tell you where to publish to ..

No... go to cpanel, add on domains. DELETE the addon housitamerica. You must do it from here.

Log out.. Log back in and go to FILE MANAGER.. delete whatever extra folders remain of that name. Close file manager

Now go back to ADD ON DOMAINS and recreate the Houseitamerica no dots or anything else..control panel will do its job.

Now go to File manager and look in public html. If the housitamerica.com appears thats where you publish to

public_html/houseitamerica.com/

If you dont do it this way it may not work correctly.

Karen

I removed the add on domain. I logged out, came back in and in my Public_html still have the three subdirectories.
Do I just go and delete them in the FTP manager?

If your cpanel is instructing that.. then yes do it.

When you publish.. your path will be public_html/houseitamerica.com/

I publish the index (public_html/housesitamerica.) page and this is what came back to me when I log into the site:

Great Success !
Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server

If you can see this page, then the people who manage this server have installed cPanel and WebHost Manager (WHM) which use the Apache Web server software and the Apache Interface to OpenSSL (mod_ssl) successfully. They now have to add content to this directory and replace this placeholder page, or else point the server at their real content.
ATTENTION!

If you are seeing this page instead of the site you expected, please contact the administrator of the site involved. (Try sending an email to <webmaster@domain>.) Although this site is running cPanel, WebHost Manager, and Apache software it almost certainly has no other connection to cPanel Inc. or the Apache Group. Please do not send mail about this site or its contents to cPanel Inc. or the Apache Group.
About cPanel:

cPanel is a leading provider of software for the webhosting industry. If you would like to learn more about cPanel please visit our website at www.cpanel.net. Please be advised that cPanel Inc. is not a web hosting company, and as such has no control over content found elsewhere on this site.
About Apache HTTP Server:

The Apache HTTP Server is an open source web server which powers many of the worlds web sites. The Apache HTTP server is part of the Apache Group's many influential projects. Their efforts have helped shape much the world wide web, and they continue to be a dominating force in the web hosting industry.
