Default Second domain url account

I have my website hosted by VodaHost. I also own a second domain and have built another website that I would like Voda to host as well. I have pointed the domain to the Voda servers, and uploaded the site pages. It is not showing up when I type in the url. I already paid my $9.95.

Do have have to pay for the second website to be hosted separately?

No.. you have to create the domain in your cpanel first under the addon domain icon. This creates a folder on your account for it to reside in. Then you publish to that folder : public_html/newfolder

If you published where you published your first one it will appear now as your old domian name.. and you will have to republish that one as well.

Hmmmm. That's exactly what I did, but when I use the new url, nothing shows up. My existing website is a completely different site than the new one, and they are not related.

My original url is:
www.marriagesbymarcia.com

My second url is:
www.meanoldgeckolady.com

I have done everything all the tutorials and your recommended advice have suggested. Now, when I enter http://www.meanoldgeckolady.com, I only get a list that says, "Index of" with all the pages and images listed... but my starting page is named 'index'. When I enter http://www.marriagesbymarcia.com, I get my 'mean old gecko lady" website index page!!!

What am I doing wrong?

Hi, it seems like your uploading the pages & not publishing them ????
You also need to publish an index page to public_html/meanoldgeckolady/ . (Dont forget to make a separate folder on your own machine for the new site).

Hmmm... I think I am publishing the 'new' site to the 'original' IP address? Shouldn't my new website have a separate IP address?

Hi, not if you are using just one VH account. If your paying for 2 accounts? then you would have a different IP.

OK, I got www.meanoldgeckolady.com up and running. Now, www.marriagesbymarcia.com is only showing the list "Index of". I have separate folders for each of the urls on the public file, and it appears that all the files are where they are supposed to be, and both 'index' pages are named as such.

I am soooo frustrated!

I cannot see your
index
page (index and nothing else) at http://www.marriagesbymarcia.com/

check and make sure that you are publishing it to
public_html/addondomainname

Well, I think that was my mistake... I made a new folder for my original domain instead of just leaving it in the public_html . It seems to be working fine now that I moved all the files back into that folder!

Thanks for all your help!

glad you got it fixed, because that site was wide open for downloading everything without the index file.
