Default Parked Domain not seeing original domain.

Hello,

Just got all set up, thank Voda, this is so easy to do and such a delight to use.

I set up my main domian (www.redhotwicks.com) and got the transfer all done, I have now updated my www.redhotwicks.com.au A Record and MX records pointing to my DNS (ns1.voda30.com, 67.228.169.4 all my email works great but when i go to the URL (www.redhotwicks.com.au) I just get a directory listing and a CGI-BIN directory, I have also pointed in the parked domain to my main domain and still nothing, what I have I done wrong ?? I thought being parked it would use the default directory of the main domain ? Or do I have to copy the files into the directory of the 2nd domain as well ??

Regards and Thanks in Advance,

Mark

You have to PUBLISH something to it. It cant show until you do. Your old site wont show up because it doesnt reside on this server.

Smile Re: Parked Domain not seeing original domain.

Thanks Karen,

Yes I am aware that the old site wont show up as its pointing to this server, but reading and looking at the tutorials, I was of the impression that if you have a running domain etc (www.redhotwicks.com) and you parked a new domain that it would just run from the public_html directory of your main domain.

So are you telling me this is not the case, so I should publish the index.bvp to the new domain name is that what you are telling me, and if so, why is this not in the tutorials, a lot of them are only high level and not specific to some operations.

Regards

Mark :)

Mark..

Yes.. this is what i am telling you.. you need to publish to the NEW domain folder to have something other than the index of... appear. Unless you park the domain and have their banners and ads show up til youre ready... but Id publish something there.

Karen
