I purchased a new domain, went through the steps to add it on to my account, changed the dns to match. yet for some reason when I go to the new domain, it redirects to the main account. Anyone Got any Idea as to why it would do this. It was not set up to redirect to the main site, it's doing it automatically

When did you add the new domain to the addon domainname boxes in your Cpanel ?

To be honest, I dont know..........I am assuming that you used addon and not sub domain, and I am also assuming that you entered the addon domain name corectly. I also like to think that you changed the publish box to public.html/newdomainname |

You use the publish dropdown box to send/publish your page to your website and you need to direct it to your public_html/newdomainname when publishing |

I think i figured it out. I had wordpress files setup in the folder and planned on getting them to work on a database. following the wordpress instructions. Well it didn't work. so on a hunch I threw in a simple index file and found that now it works. I guess it was redirecting because it didn't find anything in there to read. I figured if that was the case that it would show something else. Like an index of the folder like it usually does on a new domain. But it didn't.

Trial and error will do it every time.........and normally it would show a file list without an index file.
