Question add on domain fo translated mirror site

Hi,
I have had my website www.golfmindplay.com tranlsated into japanese as I will be selling product to the japanese market (yipee!) My translator has created (using blue voda) an exact coy of my website with new file names etc. It is currently sitting in my folders of my.com name. I have purchased a new domain name www.golfmindplay.jp

Each domain will have a link to the other.

Both websites will have separate shopping carts (as the Japanese are a bit suspicious of paypal)

Do I have to set up a whole new account?

DO I just create an add on domain?

How is a sub domain different?

Any help much appreciated.
Cheers
Tracy

How you access it is the difference between a sub domain and an addon domain. Also you can point a domain name to the addon much easier. You can do an addon domain, depending on what you tend to use for a shopping cart very easily.

Thanks - but still not very clear. I am a dinsosaur when it comes to all of this. If you were me what would you do?
I have paid for the .jp domain.
I have the .com site up and running well and have sold many products from it
The .jp site is built by my translator (using blue voda) and is all in japanese characters so I cannot read it!
I will be selling product from the .jp site as well.

What do you think is the best way to go?
Cheers

If you have purchased the jp domain, you should be able to point this domain at your VH server from where it was purchased & then create an add on domain in your cpanel. (Which will be another folder) & publish your new site to this folder (public_html/newjpsite/). It might take a day or so for the domain name to propagate & work properly.

THanks - that has answered my question. Have done as you suggested (and also got a reply from support that said the same thing) and am now waiting for it to happen.

Hi, if you have done both ends? You can publish your new index page to public_html/newjpsite/ & it might show up sooner than you think under your new domain from the Japanese providers.

Good luck.

Thanks Chris,
I think it is done now - have passed it over to my translator who hopefully can work it out. It's a bit beyond me! My expertiese lies in other areas!
Cheers
