I have just aquired a new domain to make a new website.

http://www.cheer-ireland.com

Can I use the same Blue Voda software I used to make my last website?

If so...How do I set the home page...I cannot save it as /index as that will save over the previous page home page on another website.

If I can not use the same Blue Voda...what shall I do??

Ok ok.. first of all calm down... this is easy to solve.

You can make as many websites as you like with BV, and as long as the sites are YOUR websites and not for anyone else you may host them on your main account.

Steps:

1) log into your control panel and click on 'add on domains'
2) add the domain cheer-ireland.com (leave off the www.)
3) the next field (folder name) will self populate with either cheer-ireland OR cheer-ireland.com (depending on which version of the control panel you have.

If it populates with cheer-ireland, leave this field as it is. If it populates with cheer-ireland.com, personally I would remove the .com bit from this field leaving just 'cheer-ireland'

4) fill in the next field with your password.

5) add this domain by clicking 'add'

6) Make sure your domain cheer-ireland.com is pointing to your vodahost server account (same details as main account)

7) Now, create a new folder inside your BV folder to hold your new website pages in that you build with BV.

8 ) Open BV and create your first page (index)

9) to publish this page and any other pages to this site you use exactly the same publishing details as before with one important change.

In the folder field where it will say public_html you add /cheer-ireland

So the line would read public_html/cheer-ireland

10) Publish

Hello,

Okay I tried that... which control panel do I log in as my original one or my new one...

I tried both after adding, ADD ON Domains

My original says I cannot use cheer-ireland.com as someone owns it - me!

So I tried loggin in using the cheer-ireland cp and the message I get is You Cannot Park Your Main Domain.

So Im stuck! any more advice?

You log into your control panel using your existing username and password, it has nothing to do with a domain name???

Just log into your main CP and add the new domain as instructed above.

It would appear that you now have two websites with two different control panels, which means that you have two different accounts.

NO Problem.............

(create a new folder on your computer for the new BV pages for this site)

Create and Publish a NEW index page to:
http://www.cheer-ireland.com
using the server number, username and password using
your new welcome email details.
