Thread: New Domain name purchased

Hi
I just purchased a new domain and i wish to redirect anyone that clicks on this to my current website, how do i do this, The company i bought is off are looking for Name Server (NS1) name server (NS2) and Name Server (NS3) do i provide this info,

Yes.. you point it the same as you did your other domain..but.. in cpanel after you create the addon.. you then do a redirection. This writes an htacess for you so that when someone types in that domain name.. it goes to the site you want it to.

Just to confirm pamsmobilecuts.com was the domain i purchased off voda, i purchased pamsmobilecuts.ie from another company so i presume the account details are under the .com domain,

Hi, do you not have the facility to go into your domain area & do this your self.?
When i looked up the domain on whois, its down as ..............
domain: mobilehairdresser.ie
expiry: 08 April 2009
So i am not sure if this might be part of the problem as well?

Would this be the domain area in the control panel, what do i have to do with it,

Hi, No! You should have another control panel at the place you purchased the domain from. Its here you would point the domain name at your VH server. But if the domain is out of date, i would have a check up on this 1st.
I am assuming you have purchased this from somewhere else? as i didn't think VH did .ie domains.

Hi Purchased it off another company, same as i did the last time with pamsmobilecuts.ie, all the asked me for was the name servers which i sent them, I just got a mail from them telling me "You will need to contact your current host to ensure these nameservers are set up correctly to work with your domain." What the jasus does that mean, he he

Must admit that i cant understand that if they have your details with the other domain already pointing at the server, I'm not sure why they cant do the same. Might be worth popping in a s/ticket just in case. Have you also set up the add on domain, in your c panel.
