Thread: How to use my VH domain name to replace blogspot name

I have built the web site www.nouveauwriter.com and I would like to use this name for my blog http://nouveauwriter.blogspot.com since I plan to transfer my info from the web site onto the blog. How do I go about doing this? Do I need to change DNS servers as well?

You have done a fine job with your website and the principle of linking is the same.

You can link from site to blog and blog to site. Apply the same principle of how you link the website pages.

I don't think my question was clear, though. I was not asking about linking but about replacing my blog name (http://nouveauwriter.blogspot.com) with a custom domain name, that of www.nouveauwriter.com which is my website. In other words, I want to replace my whole website by my blog so that when someone clicks on nouveauwriter.com it directs them to my blog. I don't want to redirect either, if possible. Any idea how to do this?

Change the name of your blog first page to "index" and publish to public_htm;

you can do what I did use a landing portal cum site map. Click on my signature web site link below.

The forum is seperate to my website.

Ps. use IE8 to visit my website. Firefox is still messing mytexts.

I cannot follow your first advice since my blog is on Blogger and not BV. As for the second, it still does not answer my question about using my BV custom domain name to replace my blog name. Any other ideas?

Hi,

Your Domainname was purchased by you and registered with WHOIS.

Your Voda servers has been set and can only accept your registered Domainname. [Your password given to you with your welcome letter is = to your Domainname] "public_html/" is your Domainname.

So how can you ask VH to install a third party program as your Domainname? It is not a resonable request. It cannot be done.

You can only do it by providing a doorway [redirection] to your bloggger
blogspot.

Design a webpage identical to your Bloggers blog page with BlueVoda.

Provide all the links to your blogpages at Bloggers on the specially designed webpage and name your doorwaypage as "index" and
republish to your "public_html/".

This way when a search for your domain is done it will lead to your doorway index page.

This is my best advice to you. I do not know any other way to do it.

Myabe some other members here are more knowledgeable and can help you.

thanks for all your help. I know that BV supports Wordpress on their servers and I think they can do the same for Blogger. I think I will submit a support ticket and see what they tell me. I may just have to redirect.

I have with success installed more than one Virtual hosts on my system, ... use it w/ your domain; if no domain, use vh to make up a local domain, for example ... use only name-based virtual hosts so the server doesn't need to worry about ... after edit vh, did you restart wamp to take effect? did you setup DNS for ..
